How to Make Thick Cuts with a CNC Plasma Cutter

Running your CNC plasma cutter near its limits, such as making thick cuts, requires everything to be correct. From having ample power to running clean consumables, any minor compromise can lead to poor results.

In this video, our product engineer Nick explains everything to check and what settings to dial in. Demonstrating on Eastwood’s CNC VersaCut 40 plasma cutter and table, he sets up to cut ¼-inch steel.

 

 

It starts with correct power supply, in this case a 30-amp, 240-volt circuit to power the cutter. He also explains what consumables to check and how they affect the results.
