Those of us that do our bodywork projects at home know how dusty the job can be. That’s where a dustless sanding block setup, like Eastwood’s Contour DSB system, really comes in handy. Its perforated block and paper design attaches to a vacuum cleaner to minimize sanding dust when working.
In order to be both effective and easy to use, the amount of vacuum being drawn while working is critical. Too much vacuum and the block won’t move smoothly over the paint and will stick in stead. Not enough vacuum, and the block won’t pull enough dust through the hose to keep your shop clean.
In this helpful instructional video, our man Dave shows you how to assemble the DSB when you’re ready to block sand. He also walks through the various regulator settings based on what paper is being used. With proper set-up, the dustless sanding block can be a game changer on your next project.
