what is the black plastic piece on the back ? also will this work with eastwood polisher #31454 ?
The backing plate will be needed to utilize this tool with any buffer/polisher. This can be found here on our website https://www.eastwood.com/liquid-ice-white-backing-plate-6in.html This can not be used with the #31454 because it has a 5/16"-24 spindle thread and this backing plate requires a 5/8"-11 arbor

what device do I use to clean a pad for additional use?
The best way to clean would be a buffing pad spur. Unfortunately we do not currently carry this tool.

will the ice wool pad work on the griot's buffer
The Liquid ice pads have a "button" in the center to align them on the backing pad. The Griot's buffer doesn't have the correct hole in the center to accept this pad. The Chemical guys buffing pads we sell will be fit as they are simply a hook and loop backing.

Will this work on a 30247 buffer?

Is this compatible with the 7" buffer/polisher #30247, which comes with a 6 1/2" backing plate?
As long as you pick up the backing pad for this Liquid Ice buff pad it will work perfect with the 30247 Buffer.

This buff pad attaches to backing pad with hook and loop.
