Urethane bumper covers were very popular in the 80's and 90's. They are not as common, but are still made. Whenever you have a bumper cover that is made of yellow plastic, that is the indicator the plastic is thermoset polyurethane. This is the welding rod you need to repair thermoset polyurethane. This is not a true fusion weld. Instead, it is similar to a braze repair, but the bond strength for this repair material is amazing. If you see the symbols PUR or RIM on the bumper, this is the rod that you need. This rod is 30 ft. (9.1 m) long and 1/8th inch (3 mm) in diameter and is applied using one of Polyvance's airless plastic welders.
