POR-15 is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. Use it to coat all rusty metal surfaces
Rusty frames
Floor pans

Quality stuffI started out using this on a surface rusty Corrado rear axle. I got a quart and barely made a dent in it. It covered easy and created a rock solid coating that will be virtually impenetrable. I’ve got plenty left to take car of some other under carriage stuff.

Works wellWell I bought this stuff to repair the floorboard on a car I own. However I have not gotten to it yet,but did use this product to repair a garden type plastic cart. And it worked great. So far so good I'm really liking this stuff.

Undercarrage and rust covered parts works greatI have been using this product for about 24 years. It is intended to be used to paint over rust. If you are painting a lean smooth surface it will not cover well but if you sand it or blast the smooth areas to give it an etch it will stick fine. It is very hard surface when dry. I have had several cars that have been driven over 15000 miles each over 20 year period of time and the undercarriage still looks great. If you get it on your bare skin clean it off right away with a solvent or it will have to wear off. I put a sandwich bag between the lit and the top of the can to keep the lid from sticking. I have not used a better product for this type of paint and I have tried several different brands. It doesn't hold up well to sunlight but lasts a long time where the son doesn't shine. Floor pans, inside roof, undercarriage parts, differntials, even springs.

Multiple uses.Mostly POR15 is used on metal products, but following the guide lines of my wood truck bed manufacturer I applier 3 thin coats of POR15 to pine wood topped by a finish coat. I couldn't be happier with the result. It soaks into the wood obviously, so that necessitated multiple coats, but the coverage was excellent applied with a 4 " roller and actually still shows grain. I have never been disappointed with any POR15
products. The discount Eastwood offered was worth the price.
can you just wire brush, sand, and scrap the metal and then apply the por product paint?
Asked by: boots
No you will need to explicitly follow the preparation instructions for POR 15 use the additional chemical prep materials for proper adhesion and durability
