Description
POR-15® is a high-tech, high performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, non-porous finish that won't chip, crack, or peel, and it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture. Use it to coat rusty frames, floor pans, farm equipment, marine equipment, or even a heavily corroded battery tray. POR-15® is sensitive to UV light (sun) and must be top coated for prolonged exposure to sunlight. Top coating is not required for areas not exposed to sunlight.

One quart covers about 96 square feet at one coat Step 1- Degrease with Eastwood's PRE or POR-15 Marine Clean Step 2- Neutralize and etch the surface with Fast Etch or Metal Ready Step 3- Coat surface with POR 15, allow to cure Step 4 Topcoat with any one of the many Eastwood Paints and coatings

POR-15 on 1951 Ford F1 frame, frame-off Resto mod project.
After sandblasting and wiping down the frame with degreaser/cleaner, we used 4 inch rollers and 3 inch paint brushes to apply 2 coats of the POR-15. This stuff looks great and 2 weeks of working on the suspension, there isn't a single chip or marred surface anywhere on the frame. One thing I can say is that I didn't paint a couple of areas on the inner frame because I will be welding on motor and trans crossmembers in a few weeks. I'm really glad that I left these areas bare because this POR-15 coating really adheres to the frame metal. Trying to sand it down to bare metal after it's on is a serious chore, this stuff is tough!
