Description
We created the SUPER STARTER KIT in response to requests from customers anxious to try out the entire 3-step rust-stopping system, as well as those customers who need only a small amount of product to cover the metal they plan to paint.
You'll get a 4 oz. can of POR-15® Gloss Black (enough to cover 6 square feet with 2 coats), a half-pint of POR-15® Metal Prep, two wooden handle paint brushes, and a pair of our special high-dexterity surgical latex gloves, PLUS an 8-ounce bottle of our famous POR-15® Cleaner Degreaser, the world's greatest WATER BASED degreaser.

Great restoration kit
Follow directions and achieve Amazon results. Both brushes have their perfect purposes for working with frames without the ability to use a sprayer method. Perfect sample size.

Worked better than expected
Have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Had a rusted pan under an indoor heat pump air handler that had leaked and rusted the pan. After scraping the pan and cleaning out all the residue, I used the cleaner and rinsed and dried, then spread the POR15 right over the remaining rust. It did a really nice job of covering the rust and the pan looks as tho it came with the black coated liner. I'm happy with the results and it was much easier than I was expecting.

Hope it works for long term
Bought this to try to protect an area under the cowl grill of a '71 Challenger. Area is difficult to access to clean and coat and not visible without using a mirror. Based on past results with POR-15 I believe this will work if I got it clean enough. At least the area has some protection and the Starter Kit is just the right size to perform the smaller jobs sometimes necessary. The kits are very complete and contain good quality accessories along with the Quality POR-15.

Great product
I recently used the starter kit, and am completely satisfied with how this product works. If you follow the instructions to a tee, and don't deviate this stuff works great. I do wish it came in a spray can, but aside from that, it covered the rust, and was actually easy to prep for paint. Also, the paint stuck just fine.
Will be using it on the frame and suspension parts as well.

Works Well!
I used the kit as directed and had great results. I cleaned up a car rim at the tire beat, degreased, applied the metal prep, and applied the corrosion inhibiting paint. The tire was mounted and its holding air. I definitely recommend this product where applicable.

I want to use POR 15 on the frame of my car. the frame has spots of rust that i want to treat and the rest of the frame still has the factory paint. Do I have to remove all of the paint off of the frame or just apply the POR 15 in the rusted spots?
If you are just treating rust to maintain your daily driver, you could just apply to the rusted areas and follow the prep steps in the data sheet or test compatibility over the existing coating as detailed here: https://www.eastwood.com/images/pdf/POR15-Rust-Preventive-Coating-Data-Sheet.pdf
If you are restoring a vehicle or want to coat the full frame, POR 15 recommends stripping down to bare metal and following their prep steps for best results.

Can I use this kit to treat a master cylinder? What flat top coat will work with this kit?
The only product that we have that is formulated for use on a Master Cylinder is our Brake Gray

What would the difference of results be for using the POR-15 starter kit on wheel well rust vs using Eastwood pre painting prep and rubberized undercoat. Looking for long term rust treatment (prevent rust spreading)) solutions.

Black Bumper on jeep is rusting,paint chipping off. Do I need to remove all the paint?
The important thing is to remove the paint from about 1 inch back from all the rust areas. Any rust product will need to be applied directly over rust in order for the product to do its job.

Was wondering if this product-POR 15 will work on a lawn mower deck? I have tried epoxy paint and it does not last.
We have never tested this product under those circumstances. If you would decide to use this on your Mower deck, make sure you follow all the instructions.

If a pint cover 25 square feet in 2 thin coats.. Then why does this pint only cover 6 square feet? Wouldnt the pint cover the content coverage chart of 25 sq ft per pint? Am i missing something
The can of Black Por 15 in this kit is only 4 oz. not a pint. and this 4 oz. can will cover 6 square feet.

what gun could I use to spray por 15 into rocker panels and inside doors?
Any HVLP gun can be used with a 1.5mm or 1.7mm needle/nozzle.

Can POR15 be used over power brushed rustoleum primer or does it have to be completely stripped off?
Por 15 is designed to be used on rusty bare metal. Painting over an existing paint will nullify any benefits of the product.
