Product Overview:

Description

Eastwood Pro Tube Notcher

Make almost anything out of piping by keeping our benchtop tubing notcher in your toolkit. Constructed from solid steel, this easy-to-use tube notcher is built to create accurate notches time after time. It’s designed to notch tubing from ¾-inch to 3-inch in diameter, which means you can build go-carts, a full roll cage for a race car, a custom exhaust on your hot rod and much more. Our pipe notcher does all this while fitting conveniently on most workbenches and sliding into a toolbox drawer when you’re done.

Use any ½-inch hand drill to power the Eastwood Professional Tubing Notcher. It accepts all standard hole saws for cutting the actual notches, such as our 7-piece hole saw kit. The cutting angle is adjustable up to 50 degrees with the loosening of one bolt, giving you countless possibilities. Adjust to your desired angle with one hand and lock down the bearing block with your other. This adjustment method is easier than other designs on the market. Mount it in a vise or on a bench top for stable operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tubing notcher for the money. Very impressed with the quality of this unit. I've always made my notches with the lousy $36 not hers from Harbor Frieght, which wear out bushings fast and are hard to make angles with. This Eastwood unit has roller bearings to support the hole saw shaft, which should last a long time. The entire unit looks like billet steel and is very rigid. There are measurements for your different angles on the side of it. I also really like the securing mechanism for the hole saw bit. It holds the hole saw tight and true, and comes with an adaptor bushing for different brands of hole saws. My hole saws are generic Home Depot ones, and they fit great. I really believe this is the best price to quality ratio notcher you get. Thanks Eastwood!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done! I left a bad review on this a couple years ago but Eastwood warrantied the tool and I’ve been happier the second time around. It has its flaws, the bearings slide together and it cuts a little off center sometimes but overall if you hold the drill level you can get a good result. I recommend using a big D handle drill with a long side handle to give you enough leverage because the hole saw will catch the tubing on occasion and try to twist the drill and your arm. Even with its issues, I have notched a crazy amount of tubing with this thing over the last couple years and I’m happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good unit Overall the unit is solid built and sturdy however, I discovered on the first cut that the hole saw is .073" higher than the tubing being cut resulting in a less than acceptable notch. Having access to a mill I simply removed the bearing/shaft support and removed material to center the hole saw to the material. After that it cut clean, fast, and perfect

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy duty tubing notcher Order # E2081777 In setup directions, page 5. It shows (1) base frame, bolt base to it with M12 bolt. The tapped hole in base frame is 10mm instead of 12mm. Location of this 10mm tapped hole is such that if I could bolt the base to base frame, the base would be even with the bottom of base frame. That puts the shaft center in the bearing block just a little less than 1.000 in. below the center of the "v" form machined in the base frame. Since I have access to machine shop equipment, I going to fix this, as I will have to drill and tap 12mm higher up, .915 inch, on base frame. Otherwise, believe it's a good tool. Like the roller bearings for the saw shaft. Bennie

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great enginering Does a great job, quality of tool is excellent. We had older unit - this tool saves time & is more accurate

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Off center, breaks easily, no customer service. It’s off center, it doesn’t notch center in the tube. I contacted Eastwood about it and they wanted picture proof, I tried sending picture proof for 4 days and it kept saying their email was full, then it finally went through and they never replied. Now out of nowhere the end of the steel shaft where the drill attaches bent. So now my drill is wobbling all over the place while I’m trying to use this thing. Very disappointed because I’m starting my own fabrication business and the first real tool I buy is junk. I will be spending my money on another brand from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bone crusher Bought this to cut some 3" stainless exhaust tubing. Bought a new blade / hole saw, and used a currently owned pretty powerful hand drill. Quick way to brake your arm. If the drill or blade catches, it will twist you up in a hurry. Luckily I'm a pretty stout guy, or this set up would definitely brake something in a hurry. This thing needs to be redesigned to fit in a drill press. After purchasing this thing, I have now started researching the costs of getting a real one. Either a plasma set up, or the grinding style. Definitely should have spent the extra bucks. This one is now sitting on the shop floor in the corner, and will probably be sold on eBay

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad center line I purchased this notched years ago and it’s stout but center line is off. I’ve lived with it but for the same money you can get other notchers that are adjustable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t notch on center Well, unfortunately my brand new notcher notches off-center, useless. thanks Eastwood, pass.
