Not enough power
Don't waste your money, just buy a cut off wheel for your electric grinder. Working with this tool is painful!

Is this cut off tool reversible? I don't see any mention of it in the manual.
Great question, Bob — unfortunately the Rockwood 3" Cut-Off Tool is not reversible. It does however offer variable speed either with the progression of the trigger itself or the help of an air pressure regulator (purchased separately).

Is the guard adjustable?
The guard on the Rockwood 3" Cut-Off Tool is not typically adjustable, safety equipment on tools should never be modified. Guards, shields, and other safety features are designed and tested to protect the user from serious injury.

I don’t have a lathe or a mill or anything of the sort can I use this as a die grinder or do I need to fabricate a part/adpater
This is designed strictly as a cut off tool. If you are interested in a die grinder we do offer item #31659 as an option.
