"Eastwood sct tool - We are firehouse Classic Cars LLC in Indianola IA. We are currently restoring a 1968 Pontiac firebird. This is a rotisserie restoration. This is a must have tool. This is awesome."
"The Mandalorian Approved!! - Worked great for stripping paint off my Old Republic ship restoration!! New Tool, New Ship, New Mission!!"
"Tough work made easy - The tool was heavier than expected but works great!"
"Contour SCT - Rips though paint and body filler very well. Was able to grind down 2 doors, 2 fenders, 2 quarters and a trunk lid in about 4 hours on one 80grit drum.
Don’t forget to order the adapter if you plan on using the thin wheels for this tool. :)"
"Best tool for stripping paint - This is by far the best way to strip layers of paint off a vehicle. I had to to the roof of a 1978 VW Bus and this tool take care of the job in no time. Wish I would have bought sooner."
"A must have! - As usual, Eastwood knocks it out of the park! This thing is a beast!
Stripped my car right down to bare steel. No more worrying about whats under the old paint."
"This change will change your life - This has become the most useful tool in my restoration to date. I started with stripping about 5 layers of paint off, and then changing wheels to condition the 70 year old body of my 51 panel truck. It has taken what was the longest most tedious job and made me feel like a top professional after my first go at using the tool. Quality product with quality results!
"Paint Stripping will never be the same again! - Awesome tool, very well made, works well"
"It works, and is good at what it does. - Great tool, makes it easy to strip paint and not hurt the metal. You will need to buy a few drums and I suggest you get the grittiest you can. They last for a reasonable amount of time too. You will end up scuffing it with 36-40 to get bondo to stick, but it leaves a beautiful finish behind. I did find that just using the weight of the machine and moving slowly worked well."
"Vintage Trailer frame restoration - I used the Contour to strip a vintage trailer frame. A task that I dreaded went very quickly and there results were great."
"Priceless Equipment for A Low Price! - I build metal sculptures and pieces using old rusty recycled metal. This thing beats a side grinder ANY DAY! The wheels last longer, clean more, and clean better. I'm amazed someone didn't come up with this idea sooner and I thank Eastwood for selling it for way less than what it's worth."
"Wished I purchased sooner! - Fantastic all around machine, strips paint like warm butter, and polishes like a dream...super satisfied!!!"
"Works really fast - This took off the primer paint and rust in no time at all"
"It Works! - I'm resto modding a 69 Coronet. I'm not sure what they painted this thing with but it doesn't want to come off. It didn't even react to chemical stripper and this was the good stuff. I used the abrasive drum and set the machine on 5. I did the entire hood in about an hour! 1 drum did the roof, doors, and hood. I think 2 drums would do the whole car."
"Awesome tool!!! - I love this contour SCT!!! I ordered the 40 grit pad and only tried it for about 5 minutes. It took off the paint and body filler quickly, can't wait to take the whole car down to bare metal."
"Great Product and Time Saver - I looked at the Contour and other tools on the market. The Contour allows getting into tighter spots than the others. It has more power and larger drums. I showed a buddy who has a restoration shop and he was impressed with it. We tested it on a damaged fender panel at his shop. I am now stripping paint off my 1994 S10 to repaint. It is fast. The two pictures shows the difference between the finishing (Item #21972) and abrasive (Item #21970) drum. I'm sure this toll will be borrowed by friends. It is built well enough that I won't worry about it."
"The best auto body tool I have bought in 30 years. - Removes everything with ease. Even gets into these complicated curves with no problems. Try it on the lowest speed for cutting paint and body filler. Zip tie your shop vac hose to the tool and make the job almost dust free."
"Time saver - It would of took me 10+ hours sanding and conditioning the metal of my project car got it done in half the time. Best 200 bucks ive spent only compliant is that i didnt know about it sooner."
"Best tool for sanding! - This is the best sander I have ever used. With the different sanding drums any job can be handled in a small amount of time. I'm adding two pics of some old (well over 100 years old) iron from handrails that have been painted many times over a 100 year span. From start to finish it took 15 minutes!"
"contour sct - The first time I used this product, it literally took me just 30 minutes, to completely strip the paint from one of my step fenders."
"Better than I expected . - Powerfull professional grade tool. Slow start very nice and speed control makes it very tune able for what ever you are doing."
"Wowww - I purchased the Contour SCT several weeks ago. I didn't open it up till today. I'm not a body and fender guy, just a guy that wants to restore my old muscle car. I've purchased numerous items from Eastwood, but by far, this is probably one of the best items I've purchased through Eastwood. I needed to strip down my lower rear quarter panel to see the patch work that the previous owner had done. I used the Aircraft Paint Remover on the other side, a year ago and that took hours. I decided to use the SCT and all I could say was "Woww". It stripped the paint and exposed the TONS of body filler that was on there. I initially used the drum that came with the SCT and I was very skeptical on how it was going. But once I put that abrasive drum on there, it was all over. I just wanted to do a small spot, but it became fun, so I kept going. By the time, I told myself that the small spot was already done, I did the entire lower quarter panel, in a matter of minutes. I'm still learning about how to do this stuff and with this tool it was very easy. For a "Bonehead" like me, I need easy tools, just like this one."
"Well Worth the Money - Bought the SCT as an early Christmas present to myself to strip my 70 torino. Wanted something to strip years of bondo and paint off without having to kick on the compressors and clean up the mess the blaster would make. Best buy I've made in awhile. It strips crazy well and leaves a brushed finish that makes you want to just leave it bare and not paint it. If you are on the fence about getting one, buy it, the only regret you will have is not getting one sooner."
"SCT is great - I got it a couple weeks ago when I was thinking... how hard would it be to strip down and prep the car for paint myself... that was quick. :-) I used the 80 and 120 grit so far - next is going to be a bit of finishing to prep for primer."
"Guts and power - I first posted a question asking if this would remove mill scale from hot rolled steel. The response was yes. Well let me say that was an understatement. This thing is a beast. I purchased several drums but got the large abrasive drum for the mill scale. Not only does the SCT make it easy and quick to remove the scale, it does it without removing any metal. In the past I have used an angle grinder with different wheels and disk for this. It does eventually remove the scale, but it takes time and always ends up leaving some level of evidence of grinding behind. worst of all no matter how careful I am, I end up grind metal away on the edges or corners. Not with this bad boy. I first used it to clean some .125 x 1" A36 steel. It took almost no pressure and only a few passes, and that was due to a slight ridge on the sides of the steel."
"Still going strong..! - Purchased a black drum and it did the job quick. Increased my speed setting to 3 and it was perfect. The sheet metal was heating up more with the increased speed and more aggressive drum but not enough to cause damage. Remember to keep moving the tool, wear eye protection, dust mask and ear protection cause my ears are ringing.... It ran for two hours without a problem."
"Great tool! - Perfect tool for stripping paint and rust from my 63 ford falcon!"
"Incredible results! - So far i have used the sct tool to stip the firewall on my c10 and definitely sped up the process and made life easier. Also i used it to stip paint off an old pantry door that needed restoration i was able to do so quickly and without damaging the bare wood finish! Also saving precious time and money"
"Great for stainless - Took mill stock stainless steel and produced a great finish with the 80 grit and light polish with the 120 flap drums for table legs. Flexible and well exposed drums really made getting into tight spaces a huge benefit at about 1/3 the cost of similar tools. Now I get the benifit of having it for truck body restoration"
