Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Primer Like a spray gun in a can. Fills great - dries fast. Big can goes a long way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Primer I have been using a different high from Eastwood, I have been happy with it but it tended to be chalky but covered very well with a thick build. When I switched to this High Build I was blown away, Using a over lap pattern this primer goes on smooth and thick. I intend to use this as a base before laying down the base coat.

Questions & Answers

I stopped and sanded the parts to a 1958 Lambretta scooter. I then applied Sem Etch primer. Can I scuff that surface, then bondo some rough areas and then paint with High Build before finish painting? If so, what is the best finish paint to use?

Asked by: Steve
Yes, this can certainly be done. As far as a top coat- we have many options that could work. For more information please reach us by calling 800-343-9353 or by emailing tech@eastwood.com

Will this stick to bare plastic ?

Asked by: Lizkid
Yes, although to be on the safe side and depending on the plastic substrate, I would first spray either SEM plastic adhesion promoter 39863 or SEM xxx adhesion promoter 77723 then apply the high build primer surfacer.

should i use an epoxy primer or self etching primer over my high build as a base for paint

Asked by: david
Self-etching Primer should never be applied over anything except bare metal. So the epoxy primer would be the way to go.

Can you apint directly over this primer and do your Eastwood automotive paint systems bond to this primer? I only need to touch up a spot on my car before painting it, the car is fiberglass.

Asked by: Kyle123
If you are just doing a small touch up area painting over it will be no problem. Applying an Epoxy Primer will help with the adhesion.

Can this be used for a plastic shower base?  Do you carry a product that would be better suited for the job?  Finally, what would be the best top coat for the primer you suggest?  Thank you.

Asked by: Capn
Unfortunately we only test for automotive use only. We have no way of knowing how it would hold up for an application of this sort. We apologize for the inconvenience.
