Plastic & Leather Prep... CleanerI purchased this to prepare for Dyeing my seat belt sleeves and buckles.
I prep most parts with MEK so the paint has a good clean surface to adhere to.
So I didn't think before I used the MEK on the first buckle and disaster struck as the MEK started to melt the textured surface. I then use this SEM Plastic Prep on it and the rest of my pieces. Then Dyed all with Eastwood's Plastic Resurfacer ...
All peices turned out perfect except for the one I used the MEK on, the Plastic Resurfacer soaked in in a few spots...
The moral is stick with Eastwood's recommendations!
P.S. Don't use this on rubber then think you will paint it... the paint won't dry for some odd reason.

How would I find out what my dashboard is made of, so that I can determine which adhesion promoter to use to prepare it for paint?
Asked by: CrySzy
You would have to do some research to see what you can find as we do not have list of what types of materials were used.

Which product would I use to prep a dashboard; the Plastic and Leather Prep or the Vinyl Adhesion Promoter?
Asked by: CrySzy
This depends on what the dash is made from. From here you would be able to decide what adhesion promotor to use.
