My shop is a old Texaco gas station that has white porcelain siding covered by 3 layers of paint, what would be the best way to remove the paint and not dull the porcelain? would the small unit that pulls out of bucket work to test before I spend big $

Asked by: David47
Since we do not test on porcelain it is hard to give a definite answer to which media would best be for you. However, soda media is the least aggressive form of blasting media that we offer, therefore giving you the best chance of not damaging the base layer. Also, the Blast out of the Bucket Kit would be a perfect and affordable way to figure out if blasting is the way to go.

I work at a manufacturing bakery with an oven belt that is approx. 280 feet long and 32 in wide would this be practical for cleaning off the oven belt from burnt on carbon? and approx. how many bags for something this large

Asked by: tims
Unfortunately we test for automotive use only so we would not be able to say if this media would work for this application. In addition nothing that we sell is FDA approved.

I have four 19 inch wheels that have been paintied. I need to remove the paint to repaint. Will one 50lb bag work with the bucket gun?

Asked by: Genesis
While it would be impossible to say depending on variables in paint thickness and how much of the wheel you will be doing, one or two bags should be perfect. Generally it takes 8-12 bags to strip a whole car.

Want to remove paint ( ablative marine type ) ( could be several years build up . Iron keel , 34 ft boat. Keel is roughly 3 ft by 4 ft ( 2 sides of course ) how much ( est ) soda ? And should it work ?

Asked by: Bill
Since all the testing we have done is in the automotive field we are not sure about amounts for a boat. With that said though an average car takes 8-12 bags of media to strip to bare metal. Hopefully that helps you estimate.

will this work in a siphon feed blasting cabinet (SkatBlast)

Asked by: mikej
Generally soda media is not recommended in blast cabinets. The main reason is blast cabinets are designed to be used with media which can be used more than one time around. It falls back into the hopper to be come back around to the pick up tube. Soda media on the other hand is a one time use style and would make a mess in the cabinet.
