Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this spot blaster I bought this spot blaster to help get rid of several small rust spots on my 1969 VW Westy that I had done a complete restoration on it back around 1985, but it is needing a little TLC to get the patina ready for another clear coat. It is working even better than I expected, I get very minimum grit loss with the spot blaster attachment catch bag in place, and when the bag fills up, I recycle the grit back into the inlet container. After blasting two areas of about 5 square inches total, I only lost about 1/4 of the grit I started with. I used the same black beauty grit that I use in my large blast cabinet.

Can I use the speed blaster for glass etching or glass engraving?

Asked by: snowyflakes
This unit can be used with 14 grit media or finer. This unit operates anywhere between 60 and 100 PSI. You can fine tune to what works best for you. The best medias for glass etching would be Glass bead, aluminum oxide and silicon carbide.

Can I use walnuts with the Speed Blaster and if so what PSI would I need to strip paint off steel tubing?

Asked by: Rocketman
Since the Speed blaster can run as coarse as 14 grit media you will be able to run walnut shell. This unit operates anywhere between 60 and 100 PSI. You can fine tune to what works best for you.
