Stud Welder Dent Pulling System

Product Overview:

Description

Stud Welder Dent-Pulling System makes a hole-free dent repair, so it won’t weaken the panel, and needs less filler.

  • Stud welder spot-welds pins onto the dented metal surface
  • Pull the pins to pull-out the dent
  • Snip the pins, then grind the rest down

3-step repair works without drilling holes, so it won't compromise the strength of the panel. The result is a professional-looking dent repair that requires minimal filler.

FAQs

(Q) Do I need a 220-volt system to operate this?

(Q) Do I need a welding mask when using this?

(Q) How do I get the pins off after they’ve been welded onto the surface?
(A) After you’ve made your pulls, simply snip or grind the pins off.

Safety Information

Stray sparks normally occur during use of this tool. Therefore, keep all flammables out of the immediate area.

Accessories

The Shrinking Electrode Tip (31041 A) turns your stud Welder into an effective tool for shrinking metal. Simply install the shrinking electrode, push the tip fully against the raised spot and trigger the gun for 1/2 second 2-3 times. If dent does not shrink tap lightly with a body hammer.

Application Tips

The Stud Welder Dent Pulling System makes pulling dents from one side possible without drilling holes! The Stud Welder Kit includes: the Stud Welder Gun, Large Slide Hammer Puller with 2 lb sliding weight, and a package of 100 2mm Draw Pins. Easy to use, simply grind away paint in damaged area, load draw pin into gun, push spring loaded stud weld gun against surface until outer contact ring touches surface, and trigger gun for less than a second to anchor the pin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used for installing window trim rivets Have not used the "dent pulling" part of this yet. I used it to install window trim rivets on my 69 Camaro. I was able to get it to work, although the grounding portion of it is quite large, which makes it difficult to fit in the confines of many early window frames/channels. I don't see the need for the grounding area to be as big around as it is. If it was about 25% smaller it would have been perfect. As far as price, I could have probably gotten this cheaper. I'm sure it is essentially a re-branded standard issue spot welder. Quality seems good (made in USA!! )

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stud gun Decent gun. Cracked in shipping. Actual puller seems cheesy. Hard to get on and off the stud.

Do you need to worry about blow through on the panel you are welding the studs to? I need to pull a dent at the back edge of a roof panel and don't want to remove the headliner if possible.

Asked by: Andy B
It is always recommended to remove anything flammable behind the panel you're working with. The back of the panel will get hot for a split second.

What is the duty cycle on this stud welder?

Asked by: SStafford1971
The stud welders are not rated with a duty cycle like a traditional welder since they are never operated continuously. These are triggered on and off quickly when used.

Do the 2.5mm studs work with this tool?

Asked by: howard63
Hello Howard, The 2.5 mm studs would be just a bit to big for that unit. The largest pin that the unit will take is 2mm.
