Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great nibbler Works excellently on automotive sheetmetal, I used it to cut some patch material out of some scrap parts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great maneuvering with the long handles. Was able to cut my 4 inch diameter hole in a metal box. The steel box was .022 inch thick (26 Gauge) The nibbler went around the curve just like the picture in the advertisement shows. Very smooth. I liked the way the cutting jaw with the serrations grabbed the material as I cut. No slipping. And it has good reach with those long handles. I like the way it handles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Eastwood purchase It feels a bit awkward to use. This may be my ignorance. The cutting capability is great. Hopefully the awkwardness will become less as I become more accustomed with using the tool. Quality is good. And as usual Eastwood ships fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could have smoother action. Tried them out for the first time and they definitely cut and in close quarters. Worked well on piece of metal that had a bend already in and needed a cut next to the bend. The only thing i don't like or maybe understand is after a single squeeze the tip hangs up in the sheet metal and you have to push the tool back down thru the metal to get your next cut. I don't know if this will change with usage or not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool for jewelry metalsmiths I'm cutting 22ga copper and brass for bracelets. This tool helps my not so young hands cut the curves, back and forth, in my stock without leaving warped metal edges. There is next no waste. It was a bit tricky to learn to use and did have some rough remains, but they were easily trimmed with kitchen shears. Frankly, I would never use them on 20ga steel. The gauge notwithstanding, the nature of the metal itself governs how easily these nibblers cut.

I have approximately 22 gauge, .030" aluminum sheets. I need to cut some detailed, tight curves. I would like to know if it will make cuts with no deformaties along the edge?

Asked by: Jeff
there may be some small deformities along the edge as this tool only takes small bites at a time

How wide is the material that the nibblers nibble out? AKA how much wide is the material that the nibblers actually remove from the cut?

Asked by: Brendan
These remove approximately a 1/4" from the metal when they cut.

I am cutting up sheet metal objects with uneven surfaces (small corrigation, curved etc) and wonder if this tool would work for this.

Asked by: Gordon
This tool would not be a good option for a corrugated surface.

How much does it take off in each snip? I have strips of metal 0.5mm thin, 1/2" wide, and need to trim about 1/4-1/2" off the ends of each strip. Would a single snip be able to take off the whole 1/2" piece or is it multiple cuts?

Asked by: Mike
This will not cut one strip straight across in one cut, for doing this we would recommend using our aviation snips.
