Which size rod do I need from sheetmetal patch panels
Sheet metal would take the smallest rod you can use such as the 1/16th size. Also, on steel panels you can use MIG wire to make the filler rod even smaller to minimize heat needed to melt the filler.

Does the copper coating affect the weld composition or is it too small to make a difference?
There is no need to remove this coating prior to welding.
