Have used VHT since I was akid for valve covers etc. used this for under front end on wifes car where irt hits parking curbs. Love it.

It is amazing product
I followed the directions on the can and instead of putting the painted part it in the oven for 2 hours after painting I heated the part up with a heat gun and then painted it. Then I kept the heat gun on the part form about 2 minutes and the paint wrinkled up right away. After about 1 hour of air drying it was dry enough to handle. I used it Aluminum and on Steel and it gave me the same results on both and it is easy to blend in if you make a mistake . I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have that type of finish. After 2 days of air drying it became a rock hard finish.

nice finish
bought this to finish jugs and heads on my Harley. It works well, but you do have to get the knack of it. first coat should be a mist, then increasingly heavier coats sprayed in differeny directions works well. I've yet to fire up the bike so no comments on reliability or longevity.

Yes, this should hold up to the application in reference. This can withstand up to 350F consistently.

I am going to use a wrinkle finish on a dash. It will not see a heat cycle. Will this cure properly without a high heat cycle?
The VHT High Temp Black Wrinkle Aerosol (15232Z) will cure without a heat cycle.

Can this Wrinkle paint be used on plastic?
Due to the chemical composition of the VHT HIGH TEMP WRINKLE PAINT (15232Z) it is recommended as a (DTM) Direct to Metal only paint. Spraying this product on plastic surfaces may cause undesirable results.

Can VHT Wrinkle Finish Paint be used over Eastwood Platinum Rust Encapsulator or any other Eastwood Rust Encapsulator
Although this has not been directly tested since these are 2 different brands- the products in reference should be fine to be used in conjunction with each other. We would just recommend testing a small area first to be safe.

Why does It say on the instructions that you can oven cure it for an hour at 200 degrees. Again is this after a 2 hour air dry?
The oven cure is for a forced cure by heat which can be done instead of the air curing process at room temperatures.

Restoring a vintage Chainsaw needing a black wrinkle finish on the gas tank. Is this product fuel resistant when fully dried? Is some sort of base coat/ primer needed?
Unfortunately spray can products are not overly fuel resistant even when dried. Another possible option would be powder coat.
