Is this what i would use to polish my aluminum valve covers to a shine. No deep scraches, just cleaning up.

I crush white rouge bars & mix it with BBQ starter fluid getting it to a thick liquid consistency. Then use it with a clean rag. 3 bars to 32 oz. of fluid. So for 1 bar mix accordingly. Really works great on brass & aluminum.

The rouge seems too dry is there any way to soften it up .

They are manufactured that way so they can be pushed into the buff wheel. The rotation of the wheel will take the compound off slowly, so you will not add too much.

What is the composition of white rouge? We are restricted due to our application as to what we can use. For example we know we cannot use red jelewer's rouge due to the ferric oxide content.

This compound is made up of less than 15% Hydrogenated Fatty Acid, less than 15% Wax and less than 75% Aluminum Oxide.
