Sharpen Mower Blade on Machine - Professional UserWe are a Professional, full service mower repair facility, and we use these to sharpen mower blades on the machine. you need to be careful regarding fuel, because sparks and fuel dont mix. That aside, these are the best tool we have ever used to sharpen mower blades in this way. we use a 36 grit belt, and it removes material rapidly. you can sharpen a blade you might otherwise throw out.
if a blade is really bad, we remove it from the machine, and use the same sander to make the edge flat again, and then can rapidly put a new edge on with the same tool.
if you are looking to sharpen blades on the machine, this is exactly what you are looking for.

Belt SanderWorks well. Great for the price.
Only issue we had was the tracking screw adjustment...We had to back the screw out (binding) and tweak the tuning fork shaped die casting to get it to track centered.

3/4 is the best option.works great. love it. you have to use a hex wrench to adjust the flex end. wish that were different.
it will work great if you can find 600 grit belt. chuck up a crankshaft ina lathe and spin while grindind and it will buff the journals to a bright shine

Will this tool sharpen mower blades

We purchased these specifically for sharpening mower blades. We had been using the worksharp tool grinding attachment until they discontinued it.
we use these type of tools to sharpen mower blades on the machine. you want to use the coarsest grit you can get (24-36) watch for fuel - the sparks can ignite it.

I am looking to grind down the internal weld seam on 5 inch (3/16 wall) square tubing. does the height and width of the product exceed this dimension?

This should be able to fit inside of a 5" square piece of tubing. The sander has a 7" reach so it could do a 14" long piece of tubing.
