Good product
The pad works as intended. The only problems I had with it were operator error. I got too close to sharp edges a couple of times. The pad can't handle that. Best to have a backup pad.

Works great
Only problem I had was I was on my second stripper disc and the hub tore out of it. Hope it was a fluke. Eastwood was quick to send out a replacement at no cost even though the purchase was over 30 days ago. Great customer service.

Essential tool
Would not have been able to strip my entire car down without the use of the stripping disks which attach to this backing pad. However , i suggest once the backing pad begins to show significant wear that you throw it away. That means the entire diameter of the stripping disk is attached which is not the case when the edge of the backing pad begins to wear down. I had one pad fly off, and shortly afterward the pad itself tore sending another disk flying across the garage. I replaced the pad and i feel confident with it. I would purchase 2 to do a whole car, but the wear could also be due to holding the grinder at too steep an angle.
