Application Tips
A good rue of thumb is: start by adding no more than 5% reducer , then spray a test pattern. If more is needed, keep going until you've reached the desired spray viscosity. Too much can cause runs, blushing or lead to trapped solvents; solvent pop, wrinkling, blushing again, etc.

Get this along with the single stage paint
Made the single stage paint flow better and as a result less orange peel!

Reducer
My first time painting a truck and the reducer helped spray the truck like a pro. I tried one side without the reducer and my primer had runs in certain spots

The reducer worked perfectly for me.
Every product I have used has been exactly as advertised. My only disappointment has been when you discontinued Pin up red base coat when I had two fenders and a hood left to paint. I had to buy Single Stage and I am trying to make that work.

Perfect product for what I needed no guessing
Get stuff does as advertised. Why guess with other brands and mixtures/chemicals just use the product as recommended by the manufacture..

Consider using this product
So, here I am, wondering if I should use the reducer when spraying my car with single stage eastwood urethane. So I try it.... and the results were amazing! My "orange peel" was virtually non-existant, and the clear coat (also reduced) looks phenomenal! I would definitely recommend this product, based on the results it gave me.

Smoothed Ureothane Primer well
Primer was too thick for my nozzle. The reducer made a big improvement.

Works well with Eastwood products
Used this with polyester primer surface and 1.8 tip. A larger tip would work if not reduced, but with this reducer I can get a good build without runs.

I am using 2k urethane primer with activator. It is very thick and came out more like a splatter. If starting with 5% reducer, how do I measure that out in your mixing cup? Thank you
I use a graduated mixing guide stick (metal with level marks on it). I mix my paint, primer and sealer using the suggested mix on the paint can or Product sheet. Using PPG products (the ones I am most familiar with, but makers do vary) I mix 2K primer 4 parts primer to 1part activator to a 1/4 part reducer. Adjust to spray. Acrylic urethane mixes 2 parts color to 1 part reducer to 1 part hardener. Adjust to spray. Just a rule of thumb but it worked for me.

can I use this with Deltron 2000 base coat?
if you are using Deltron DBC Urethane Base Coat, the Eastwood Universal Urethane Reducer should work fine. If you are using Deltron DBU it requires PPG Reactive Urethane Reducer only.

Your rust encapsulator (when spraying) calls for Xylene as a reducer. Is this what I need to reduce your rust encapsulators?
Xylene is a solvent that you should be able to purchase lcoally at a hardware or supply store.

How critical is it to use the right temp. activator? For example the atmosphere temp. is 65 and I use a medium reducer. Can you explain it for me, thanks guys.
If you apply the product mixed with a higher ambient temperature rating activator or reducer it will increase the flash period in between each coat as well as the full cure period.

is the reducer the same for epoxy primer and single stage urethane?
Yes, all products in reference utilize this same Universal Urethane Reducer.
