Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Internal frame coating" I purchased 5 cans of this product to coat the inside of a Jeep wrangler frame during a "frame off" restoration. It took 3 cans to complete one very heavy coat. Be sure to use drop cloths, gloves, and eye protection, as the product does (predictably) spray out of any frame holes during application. I blew out the frame with compressed air prior to applying this product (amazing how much rust, scale, and dirt will come out). Found it helpful to tape a straightened coat hanger to the tube to help prevent "coil-up" in frame and allow directional use. reuse hose on successive cans. cans emptied completely with no leftover. Product doesn't smell bad but be sure to use ventilation. It appears to have left a nice coating on the inside of the frame. (see photos) For those of you who are "nit-picky" please note that it will discolor your external frame paint if already done. Mine has a coat of Por15, Por primer, and Por Chassis black, and you can see where it does run and discolor. (see photos) In all, I like this product and will definitely use it again. Very good price. Good luck with your project!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this stuff and I was very happy with it worked awesome. Used it on my 92 s10 blazer I sprayed my frame and I also used it in side the floor supports. I had to do rocker panels I also sprayed it inside the posts between the doors and inside my quater panels the stuff worked amazing ! Great spraying force and great coverage it did drip out of the holes on the frame but it worked awesome I'd but it again and again went thru three cans and none of the tips clogged.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems like a good product, time will tell!! I applied this to the inside of my frame while having patches cut out and it seems to dry to a por 15 like texture. It goes on fast so you have to move fast or you'll waste some. The only thing I could think that might need improvement is the extension tube. It wants to curl up and is hard to feed inside the frame because of this. I ran the extension inside of some small metal tubing to keep it straight and the nozzle pointing in the right direction (I could do this since I had small portion of my frame cut open). Only time will tell how good of a product this is. Price is a little high.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buy an Extra Can or Two I used this product to coat this inside of the bed crossmembers in a 72 Chevy truck restoration. I agree that this is a very 'runny' product - good as it flows, bad in that it should be done first before outer surface coatings are applied. Dries to a semi-flat sheen. Tape up any holes where paint could come out into your face. Wear goggles to avoid the unexpected. Wish I had bought more to use in door bottoms, inside bedsides, and other semi-accessible areas.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eastwood internal frame coating Purchased 4 cans of this to spray the inside of the frame on my 99 wrangler TJ. It seemed to work well. Clearly I could not see how much coverage I was getting inside the frame, but figured soothing is better than nothing. It was pretty messy and ran out all over. Best to park somewhere that you can get stains on the ground. Also you need to shake the coma continuously as you are spraying. Overall I was pleased with the products application process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An essential product for any vehicle. Eastwood's internal frame coating is a highly innovative product that offers protection for an often over looked but critical area of any car or truck. The inside of any frame is just as important as its exterior, but many don't take into consideration the need for internal treatment. This product makes it very easy to help your frame last a lifetime, and comes in at a small cost, considering the benefits. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect solution for my 54 Ford Pickup, My truck has the classic rolled top on the bed sidewall. Full of classic surface rust. I pulled a stiff brush through (several times) to knock off the loose stuff, then pulled a rag soaked in rust converter. All good. But what to do to coat the inside to seal it up. Eastwood's Internal Frame Coating is the business, zipped through a couple times and ready to go. Thanks for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read all the reviews... this stuff is cool Eastwood should let you know this could also be use in other hard to get at common rust out places. Yes it's super thin and so I used it inside my door bottoms where the outer skin is crimped at the bottom. Being so thin it's able to seep deep into the seam, I also hit the lower hinge portion inside the door. The next day this stuff was rock hard so I the sealed off that lower seam with an under coating so no moisture will ever seep into that area again. I also used this on my Running Board braces under the running board. Eastwood's long flex extension nozzle works perfect for both of these. Read all the reviews as they are correct in saying it's messy and runny so I prepared ahead of time and then when done I had not bought the cleaner they recommend to clean out the nozzle and extension, so I put their nozzle on a can of brake cleaner and presto, clean as a whistle and read for the next job. I love this stuff. JP

I have a 2006 Subaru. I am seeing rust on the underside of the door where the seam sealer is failing. For this application, is this the best product stop the rust?

Asked by: Bimmerguru
Yes, it's the best product to treat from the inside of the door where that part of the problem exists. However, if the rust is severe enough to blister or peel the seam sealer you should mechanically remove the failed seam sealer and any rust that you can find first, use the Internal Frame Coating on the inside of the door to allow it to creep into the seam, and then redo the seal sealer from the outside and then top coat. Without actually fixing the problem that exists the Internal Frame Coating will only take care of the rust that it can reach from the inside of the door skin.

Will this product protect new metal that is adjacent to rusted section of box frame repair?   Is this a one coat does all? Will I get a decent coating approx 4" above where the spray tip is dragging?

Asked by: ESID
Yes, our Internal Frame Coating is excellent not only for rusted frames, but new metal as well. The 360 nozzle will easily apply material to all areas inside the frame rail, even yours at about 4" above the nozzle. It is a strong spray which will coat everything inside the frame areas which is not otherwise obstructed by another object.
