Product Overview:

Description

Copper nickel tubing meets the definitive SAE J1047 standard. It's approved for automotive use including brake lines. This tubing is a breeze to work with and can be bent by hand. Cunifer (copper-nickel-iron alloy) does not work-harden the way that copper tubing does. This tubing is the same size and operates using the exact same hardware as your existing lines. If you want to reuse your old nuts and fittings you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great to work with I used this to fabricate a line from a slave cylinder to the hyd. throw out bearing on my street rod. It was very easy to bend, super easy to 37 degree flare, and polished easily to a mirror shine with a slight copper tint to it when polished. Definitely worth the extra cost with ease of handling and finished appearance. It looks so good, that I am going to fabricate and replace the stainless brake lines from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve on the car with this line and polish it as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well, bends easy, flares easy I used this to run all the brake lines on my project car. It worked really well. Cut, debured and flared very well. Easy to bend/shape. A little pricey though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is great!!! I build hot rods and classic cars as a retirement hobby. I have pretty much all the best tools for installing brake lines. With this product I could probably throw away most of my benders. It is so easy to bend the line by hand without kinking. And it flares easier than steel too. Although it is a lot more expensive, you make up the cost by the ease of use.

Questions & Answers

I am using an fittings on my hyd. throw out bearing. Will this tubing flare easily to a 37 degree flare and will it seal and hold the pressure necessary for this application? When polished, what is the appearance? Does it look like polished copper?

Asked by: Donz
This can certainly be flared with a 37 degree flare and hold pressures found in an automotive system. We have never tried polishing this material to see what happens.
