Eastwood Turbine Paint Gun System is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for small work! I bought this several months ago, and am just getting the chance to review it. I bought it with the intent of using it for small parts on my show truck. It fits the bill perfectly. I was able to spray miscellaneous suspension parts, exposed frame rail (while I had the bed off), and some other random parts and pieces for my other daily driver truck as well. I've sprayed lacquer, Rust Encapsulator, and clear coat through it and got satisfactory results. I do echo the sentiment about the hose popping off being frustrating. If there were a better way to make that connection, this would be a perfect "small job" gun for a DIY guy wanting to take care of small jobs in his garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Turbine Paint Sys. but using the turbine paint gun in the kit is good but the turbine gets hot as well as the hose to the point where you don't want to carry it. The hose would always come undone at both connecting ends making it a hassle to stop and put back together. Another thing is, it only sprays a fan pattern. Its good in all but there are spots where you only want to spray in smaller spot pattern but you cant because there is no adjustments. Don't take this review the wrong way, I am very happy with the job that it produced and ease of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from dont waste your money I got this as part of a bundle kit, If you are considering using this to spray plasti/elasti dip. Set your money on fire instead, if i put the plasti dip in my mouth and then spit it on the car I would imagine I would a similar appearance. Luckily I had harbor freight hvlp and compressor on hand to finish the job. I am going to contact eastwood in hopes to find some remedy, i will update review if they take it back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as expected This paint system did exactly what I bought it to do, apply Eastwood's removable rubber paint. I had no issues at all with the operation of the gun The hose does get a little warm but is not a problem. It is not the highest quality piece I've ever had but functioned perfectly for it's intended use, especially considering it's price. The gasket which seals the cup does swell when exposed to solvent but returned to almost original size after drying. I painted the bottom half of a full sized van to cover it's utility company heritage. I'm very satisfied with both the gun & the paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for plasti dip I bought this paint gun so I could dip my car. The gun worked great, sprayed smooth. It took a minute to get it dialed in how I like, dissassembles like an automotive paint gun. The only complaint I have is the foam gasket used for the paint cup, it should be rubber . It caused me to leak paint a couple times because it wasn't in right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Here is what I found . . . I just completed coating my 1985 Toyota 4Runner with ElastiWrap. I am very satisfied with the results with a few exceptions. I have always wanted to paint a car but felt it was to big a project to take on. The Elastiwrap seemed like it would be easier so I decided to go for it. I ordered the kit with one additional gallon of matte clear. I assumed this would be more than enough to do the job and I wanted a little left over for any eventual repairs. I mixed the one gallon of yellow and two gallons of white in a 5 gallon bucket and was shocked at the color that resulted. It turned out to be WAY brighter than the color on their color chart. I should have used the mixing cups provided in the kit and experimented with smaller batches to get the color I wanted. Lesson learned . . . I talked to Sean in their tech support and he kindly provided me with another gallon of white to tone down the color, but it was still way brighter than the color chart would indicate. I now had 4 gallons of color and one gallon of matte clear. I wrapped my garage with plastic, cleaned the car with the cleaner provided in the kit and started painting. I was surprised at how well the Elastiwrap covered, and with the second coat the old paint was completely covered. I put on two more coats letting the Elastiwrap dry for around 20 minutes between coats. Then a final fat coat with the matte clear. After 24 hours I looked closely at the car and the results were impressive. I had put over 4 gallons of paint on the car and not a single drip! I was really surprised at this as it was my first time using a spray gun. Several times I thought I had put on to much paint and was sure it would drip. The finish was not smooth but slightly textured. This is okay with me and gives the car a more interesting look. I tried pulling the masking tape when the Elastiwrap was still wet but the paint wanted to come off with the masking tape so I just let it dry. When dry I ran a razor blade along the edge of the masking tape and then it pulled off just fine. It does require some time and care. Also, I read in the reviews there is very little overspray . . . I don’t agree with the opinion. I was glad I had gone all out in wrapping my garage with plastic. It feels/looks like dirt will be a problem but it also seems pretty durable so it may stand some scrubbing while cleaning. I am going to wait a month before I wash it and will be pretty careful in the mean time. I read reviews that said the hose was pulling out of the spray gun but I did not have a single problem with that. I used a carabiner to attach the blower on my left side to a belt loop as I was spraying, and that worked out pretty well. PROBLEM: The gasket between the spray gun and the bottle is made of foam and swelled up when exposed to the Elastiwrap. It becomes too long for the space provided in the gun. Without a good seal the paint leaks out of the bottle when the gun is tipped forward like when you are painting a hood or the roof. I tried removing the gasket and that did not work either. I snipped out a short section of the gasket and that worked when I could get it in right, which was not every time. In the end, I had to watch it carefully and use a rag and keep wiping it when painting the hood or the top of the roof. I will try and post a picture of the car on the Facebook site.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for long uses The hose at the pump side comes loose all the time due to high heat. Painted a pickup truck but it was a pain to stop every two minutes to connect the hose. They should put heavy-duty hose that doesn't melt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth owning or using Similar to other failures noted here, I got sputtering spray, no atomization, that resulted in a nasty texture on the car. The cup gasket is worthless after the first refill. I even purchased a second turbine gun thinking I got a lemon, but just as bad. I had such high hopes...

Can you spray bedliner with this tool

Asked by: Pepino
This will not be able to apply a product as thick as bedliner. You would need an undercoating gun for this task.

Can this gun be used with military flat single stage paints?

Asked by: neptunesrevenge
That type of coating would be too thin to spray out of this unit.

From the videos I watched Elastiwrap requires many coats (like 6). If I use the turbin gun will I have to take it apart and clean after each and every coat?

Asked by: djr1007
You will not have to pull it apart after every coat. Just after the paint job is done.

Not really sure how this works.. Does the $56 package come with everything you need? It creates it own power correct or do you have to use a compressor

Asked by: Dirty2324
This unit creates its own air supply and a compressor is not needed. This will be ready to spray out of the box.
