Rated 5 out of 5 by from DIYers - get this tool - worth the value! First and foremost, I am not a professional painter or auto technician. Just a hobbyist working on a ‘74 Chevy Project Truck and everything I've learned about painting and prep has been learned from Eastwood videos (thanks, they are awesome). After months of evaluating this system and other, more expensive systems, I finally shelled out the $$$$ to get this fantastic system. And I am very satisfied with it's quality. I also purchased 4 needles, for all others kinds if materials this system can throw down. I've only started the paint project: prepared surfaces, epoxy primer, urethane primer...and soon to paint. After a few tries of using ‘water color’ to test system (spray pattern, air flow and develop my technique) I was set to spray urethane primer. It went down well, and only had what I think are two user errors/problems: 1) I'd develop a drip once in a while, that would require me to whip the gun nozzle and clean it with pre-paint spray in order for it to spray properly again. I'm thinking urethane primer was too heavy (used 1.8 noodle, as recommended), and this is normal when using turbine sprayers with high build primer. 2) The paint canister lid would leak out primer. The requires a lot of pressure to seal properly, recommend cleaning with each fill up. I may try to find a better gasket seal, rather than the one that came installed. Finally, the gun. Very good value. Easy to adjust and easier to disassemble and clean up. Only a few parts, and intuitive how to reassemble. I'd suggest buying a few cans of aerosol cleaner when purchasing gun. I used about half a can and 2 oz of acetone. I'd also buy a separate stand so you fill your gun - while not on turbine stand. I've seen a lot of videos of guys doing that online. I'd hate to think what would happen, if fluid spilled inside system. Get this powerful system DIYers - you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend this system. Powerful and ideal for the DIY folks! Can't wait to throw down paint and clear coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment I have used both compressed air for spraying as well as turbine units. I have owned many different brands including Apollo. This one intrigued me because of the price, reputation of Apollo and the fact that it was a gravity feed gun. I never liked using turbine systems with bottom feed cups for 2 reasons. The cup is always in the way and the hoses from other brands are really bulky and heavy. Apollo hose is so light weight and with the gravity feed gun, it feels like I am spraying with a conventional system. The is so much less over spray compared to using an HVLP compressed air gun. I sprayed with my turbine and then switched to an HVLP compressed air gun and you could see the difference. I feel like the turbine lays a better finish as well. Less bounce back and more transfer efficiency. I also don't have to worry about moisture and oil in my lines. I have been in the furniture business for over 40 years and I am starting a new adventure. This will work fine for that. I also am a drummer and started to refinish a drum set using this system. Working on clear coat now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mother of GOD so I bought this gun for Liquid Wrap use, not paint. and I have to say that I am beyond blown away with how this gun is performing. I have been using it for just over a month now and the ease of use is phenomenal. I have 0 background in any painting aspects other than using a rattle can, and I can produce need professional finishes with the Apollo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5 stage turbine Great concept, and execution, sprays well. Leaks out of paint tank when spraying down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 5 stage 9.5 psi hvlp system. So far so good. Took about two weeks to recieve it because it comes from the manufacturer and not eastwood directly. For the price i paid i would have hoped for a little more in the kit like maybe a couple different needle sizes for shooting different material. I did use it for a metallic 2 stage and it layed my clear coat nicely but admittedly i sprayed on a miserably hot and humid day in my garage and the paint itself mottled and layed very dry. (My amateur mistake im sure). Took a couple trys to get it to look better. Much less overspray than compressed air though. Will be shooting again soon now that the weather has cooled and am hoping for much better results. Orange peel was at a minimum.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont waste your money, If I could give 0 stars I would because of service I purchased a few months before I was going to use just to be prepared, when I was finally ready to use I came to discover that the gun got so hot it was very uncomfortable to hold. i contacted Eastwood and they said they would be glad to get it fixed... then after not hearing anything and many emails later I discovered that Eastwood does NOT handle the repairs or exchanges and put me in contact with Apollo... several more weeks of phone calls and emails later I was told that it runs hot because I live in Arizona and that it was where I lives fault. Not being satisfied I contacted Eastwood again... now remember this is months into trying to get it repaired because I wanted it to work ... So Eastwood customer service gets back involved and at this point I am done with the run around and poor customer support and service so I requested a refund... It was agreed that Apollo would take system back and I thought all was right ..until it showed back up at my house with a email saying it had some paint on the hose and they couldn't resell so they would not accept return. yes there was some primer on the hose from when I was first trying to use. so now many more weeks go by and come to find out Eastwood does not back up the products they sell if it comes from a 3rd party...which as you see most of the products they sell are rebranded items... I paid Eastwood ..not Apollo and Eastwood should stand behind the products they offer. by the way the end result is I own a 1500 buck paperweight at was told to bad here is a 200 dollor credit to go away....what a joke of a product and support.

Can you run the hose through a cooler filled with ice to lower the air temp at the spray gun? Are there problems with the paint drying before it hits the surface to be painted due to warm air being spayed?

Does this system, have a pps system for the spray gun.

Asked by: J__J
You would have to purchase the 3m system nd adapter separate. You would need the #18 3m PPS adapter for use with this turbine system's paint gun.
