Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I use this before I powder coat and I always end up with a nice finish so I stick with it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just works. Lots of products just work, but not at this price point. Either it costs more or costs less but you need to use more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product, excellent value Interestingly the previous review mentioned disappointment due to lack of red tube nozzel because my only issue was why is there a tube nozzel on a product used for pre-cleaning panels = large areas prior to paint/primer? First thing I did was to take the wide-pattern nozzel off of the self-etch weld-thru primer (another “why” a weld-thru product being sprayed on a large pattern?) and place it on the pre-prep can, at least to me it made sense to have a wide pattern for application to pre-clean panels. I took the red tip, for the tube, and left it in the cap of the can in the event a nozzel from another product clogs. Why not toss in a wide pattern tip along with the red/tube type???

Hello,  I would like to clear my old tail gate of F100 1964 and keep the original patina, is the 10041Z pre painting prep and the 14792Z matte Clear will be the best? Is this Satin clear will stay beautiful several years??

Asked by: Alain
The 2K clear you are referring to #14792z can not be applied to our surface. You would want to clean and de-grease with the PRE, then apply the Patina Preserver: https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-patina-preserver-aerosol.html

Do I have to wipe off the Pre-Prep or can I leave it on. If I have to wipe it off what will happen if I don't get all of it and in all areas. If I wait hours or a day can I paint primer over the non wiped surface without any future problems

Asked by: Gmoney
Pre must be wiped off before it dries to fully do its job. If you have areas you cannot get to we recommend spraying the product on these areas heavily enough to get it to run, washing away the contaminates.

Can I use this to clean rubber trim around quarter glass on a Foxbody Mustang as part of a restoration process?

Asked by: Falcopilot
Using pre on rubber will distort the color of the rubber so it is not good to use on rubber.

Should my windows and chrome trim be covered before spraying this on my paint surface?

Asked by: Doug Banks
No this is just a standard cleaning de-greasing agent. It should be kept away from areas containing plastics.

I scuffed existing paint using maroon scuff pad. Can I use Pre-Painting Prep on scuffed paint surface to clean off dust? Also, if I wet or dry sand or scuff between topcoats, can I use pre-prep to clean off dust without damaging paint?

Asked by: smcmillen
This depends on the type of paint you scuffed. If it was a catalyzed paint it would be no problem to use the pre. If it was non catalyzed such as a spray can you will just want to blow off and use a tack rag to keep from damaging the paint.

I have a fender that is bare metal with areas that have body filler; is it okay to wipe the the entire fender including the body filler with this Pre Prep?

Asked by: Bug Resto
You can certainly wipe across the bare metal and body filler. Just try not to let the pre sit on the body filler for long. Spray on, wipe right off.

I am doing paint touch up work on my car. The paint is a metallic with a clear coat. The many areas to be touched up by hand are all very small - the largest being 1/16 of an inch. Is the liquid pre painting prep effective for such small areas?

Asked by: Mr Moonlight
No matter how large or small the project is the pre is perfect for prepping for paint.
