Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aluma Blast Porsche Alt housing Having used so many aftermarket productds for close to 50 years,I thumbs up this coating. We beadblasted, denature acohol, soap&water finish,to remove any foreign dust or oils.Adding the aluma blast coatings,I was intitially concerned, because the wet appearance had a cadium look to it.But once currd&dried,24 hrs,it looked natural.I have also have good results, with Diamond Clear topcoats,to act as a dirt &oil barrier. You can easily details with soap and water, and be lookin oem again.Good product Eastwood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product !! I have seen the Aluma Blast paint used in some automotive magazine articles. I was cleaning up some aluminum brackets and intake manifold for a project I am working on. I didn't like the looks of my parts after I beadblasted them. I bought some Aluma Blast and painted some of the parts I had cleaned up. I am amazed the way the parts turned out. I wish I would have used this paint in previous projects. The paint comes out of the can in a nice, controllable spray pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good cosmetic fix I have this high value winter foundry hi rise manifold-wanted to have it ultrasonically cleaned to take it back to a factory look. vendor hasn't yet acquired the unit so i went for this paint job as a quick alternative. straight forward directions, easy to apply-layed down two coats. It covers nicely, even and I hit it with the gloss sealer twice and let it sit. my motorhead buddy stopped by and commented on how good the unit looked. works for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I have been using this on all the cast aluminum accessories on my engine and have had great luck and great results. It really looks like new cast aluminum. beware not to have anything close by that will be affected by overspray as the flakes in this paint like to travel. lite coats seem to work best and seem to go a long way! I bought 3 cans and will probably will use 1-1/2 cans for all the accessories and valve covers. Love this paint!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from intake and transmision housing After spraying this on a new cast aluminum part I find it has a little green tint to it. Needs to be more gray to replicate original cast aluminum. However I don't believe an amateur would ever know the difference. It also freshens up old aluminum pretty nicely. Be careful not to apply in heavy coats causes dark spots to light of coats or to far away makes it more green. It is definitely better than any silver you will find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color match. This is not a cheap, gray, rattle-can touch-up. This is a great color match for engine parts. Not wanting to give up my alternator in a 77 Chevy, I removed the unit, carefully cleaned, masked off the wire connectors and hung it by a wire coat hanger. Applied two light coats of Aluma Blast. My buddies think I bought a new alternator. Looks like it. Just make sure you tape off the any wire connections and the pulley grove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I liked it I did my intake manifold with Aluma Blast and I thought the paint applied very nicely, and I like the satin look. It is not shiny, which was a plus for me. I prepped the manifold first to sanitary-clean to give the product the best chance for good results. I've not had it on the engine very long, so, hopefully it will hold up. So far... So good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like this paint! I'm a long time user of Eastwood's paints and have been generally be very pleased with the performance of the paints. This is the first time I've used the Aluma Blast and I'm pleased with the results. Color looks great. The part was painted per the recommended instructions and the paint laid down well.

What prep work is needed to use Aluma Blast over a Chevy red intake?

Asked by: Razz
If the paint is in good condition then you would just need to scuff the surface with a red scotch brite before applying this paint.

Can you use the 2k clear over Aluma blast

Asked by: tcshop
You would not want to use the 2K clear over top of the Aluma blast. You should use our Diamond clear for this.
