Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product. Paint dries smooth and even. Looks very close to powdercoat. I always keep some handy. You have to wipe down the spray tip after use though, or it WILL clog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chassis Black Great product, used it in the engine bay of my Ford gasser and looks killer, and it sprayed on quite well!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extreme Chassis Black I must say I am not happy with this paint. the second coat bites in to the first and wrecks it? I waited 1 week for a second coat and it still lifted. also I hit it with Krylon gloss black and it took it right off had to redo-it for the 4th time and I don't have that many weekends left. has any one had this problem? By the way it was my hood hinges on a 1971 Ranchero GT Preped and clean before painting not good!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHAT HAPPENED? I have bought and used alot of this, however these last few orders of it have me not wanting to use it anymore. First problem I had was wrinkling almost immediately after spraying over the extreme chassis primer, second issue on different parts it is not adhering even after scuffing. Not happy with this product anymore, seems like something has changed since the new cans/labels came out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressed for paint When you compare Extreme Chassis Black to powder coating its a fair price and the paint is way more durable than Krylon or Rustoleum that will chip if you look at it wrong. Before clear coat it was easy to chip the new paint on any car made by just driving down the road and hitting bugs. Paint is there to protect from rust and takes prep time that no one wants to do so work in involved. Also use lots of masking tape around the area you are assembling to avoid chips during assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Paint This is actually the first thing I had ever used from Eastwood, but has not been the last. I'm currently using it to redo a Ford 8.8 rear. Disassembled the whole thing, painted the housing, and even continuously spinning the painted housing on steel jackstands throughout the reassembly process, the only damage was some scratch marks. No chips. No gouges. Really clean. Apply to a clean surface, and allow it to cure properly, and this stuff is as hard as a rock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks like Powdercoating I am very pleased with the results (See pictures of befor and after) I used this on the subframe and rear differential. I powerwashed and lightly sanded everything to get it clean and smooth. Everything was dissasembled and the components were individually sprayed and reassembled to ensure all surfaces were treated to prevent rust bleading through later. TIP.. Make sure the metal is not cold when spraying and you will achieve great results. Thanks!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than Expected Used this on my truck the past few years and the results have been favorable. The areas that I removed the rust and primed with an antirust primer are still in good shape. I painted one area that I just scraped the loose rust off and it is still looking pretty good despite all the road salt we have here. It also seems to be very chip resistant. There are just a few spots where the rust is starting to break through.

I want to apply a coat of "Extreme Chassis Black" over 2 coats of POR-15. Can the "Extreme Chassis Black" be applied while the POR-15 is tacky, like the POR-15 second coat, or does the POR-15 need to cure fully?

Asked by: Gerbil
The POR 15 should fully cure and then be scuffed or sanded.

Should you apply a clear coat over the chassis paint? In my case I have a rail buggy and want the most durable option.

Asked by: Junior22
No the product as is, is a very durable epoxy fortified product. No clear is required nor will adhere to the product.
