Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme Chassis Black great paint I used this on my 1970 corvette frame and various suspension parts after being sandblasted. I first sprayed on rust encapsaltor as a base coat. It went on ok, but i would probably use the 2 part epoxy primer if I did another frame, the epoxy primer is an awesome primer, with great adhesion. The final outcome was just simply awesome, this paint is the bomb man. I sprayed 2 coats over the encapsalator. I ended up restoring a motorcycle frame and decided to use the same system as my car, but with epoxy primer as the first coat. I highly recommend this paint, but use a spray gun & compressor. The cans are good for touch ups.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I will not buy Eastwood products again I have used Eastwood products for years and have had problems recently with every spray can of Extreme Chassis Black Primer and Gloss paint I have bought in the last year. They all have the same problem, tips leak or the paint does not spray fine, spitting the paint like a bug sprayer. used their same two products and have sprayed them using a gun. Other issues are listing of their primer after the 24-36 hours flash time and their paints take weeks to fully harden. Been restoring cars for 25 years, will NEVER use Eastwood again, too expensive and inconsistent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme Chassis Black Gloss - Excellent Purchased the Extreme Chassis Black Gloss to paint a few suspensin parts on my frame-off project. Probably the most expensive spray paint you will ever buy, but is far superior to any other I have used in the past. Lays down nice and coverage is excellent. If you only have a few parts to paint and don't want to break out the spray gun, this is the paint to get. The shine is great. Looks just like some powder coated pieces I have on my chassis. Seems to be very durable so far as nothing got chipped or scratched during assembly. Just be sure to use the Eastwood Chassis Black Primer first for best adhesion and durability. Over all an excellent product, just a little on the expensive side.

Can this be applied over seam sealer? I'm intending 2 coats of Eastwood epoxy primer over bare metal, then seam sealer, then chassis black. Any cause for concern?

Asked by: jevchance
This paint can certainly be applied to properly dried seam sealer.

I would like to paint the stock forks on my Electra Glide with your Extreme Chassis Black gloss spray paint. The forks are aluminum with a clear coat. Is there anything special I would have to do, besides scuff the clear coat?

Asked by: Ellyess
Just scuffing the the clear with a Red or Green scuff pad to prep should be enough along with our Pre Painting Prep.

This stuff is great. Would a coat of wax help preserve the finish?

Asked by: BustinJegley
Wax is not necessary, this paint is very durable by itself, but it would certainly not harm anything if you wanted to apply a coat.
