Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bead rooler works for less $$$ After setting up in my vise , that was a snap, I started to experiment with different thichnesses and found it worked as described and best with 20 gauge sheet metal. Although I rated the value lwoer thanmost it was becasue of the wondering top arm onn 18 gauge material some times. Maybe I was doing it wrong but the results for the money are good enough to make it a good deal If it were a little cheaper this would be a very great deal. I will be adding a heaveier plate to stabilize the top arm soon. THen i will purchse the louver die !! All in all it is over all something that you can buy for less and achive good reults when yopu follow the instructions !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I set it up in a standard large vise, not the optimum setup but adequate.I wil be solid mountig it to a wall bracket soon.I have just finished a plate for welding up the side of a ride on mower.to start of with I put a gentle pressure on the english wheel to arc the panel then I used the bead roller to put a top edge to match the profile on the mower deck and then against the curve I beaded a rolled edge at the bottom and using the shrinker stretcher on the top and bottom sized them in.Job done better than previous standard......Thanks to all the staff at Eastwoods .................

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality lacking First roller I purchased was beat up pretty bad, every zert fitting broke-off, two thirds of the dies would not fir the shaft, and tightening the shaft pillar blocks locked the the shaft from turning. I complained and they picked it up for return at no charge and sent me a new one..Great Service! Next unit: tightening the pillar blocks do not lock the shafts, Had to realign the shafts and gears, but the Worst was the zerts...they are brass and were all loose and when I went to grease the shafts they still break-off. I had to replace them with steel zerts. I still have to file the chamfers on the dies to get them to slide on easy. I was disappointed that the instructions were not more in depth. they are very unclear as to setup and the use of the dies. The few pieces I have rolled took about 3 passes to complete. If you do to much at once the plate bends and pushes the top die away from the plate changing the metal shape...NOT good! but I worked around that issue. This roller at least NEEDS 3 updates; 1. Add a wheel the the depth screw(at least 3" diameter) 2. Add a spring to the upper block so it automatically releases/raises the upper die when the pillar nut is loosened. 3. Add a handle to the upper pillar block nut to make iut easier to loosen/tighten. For the money this roller is usable/workable. Just plan on some modifications and taking it slow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as advertized Shipped on time, packeged well. After unpacking and setting up in vice I ran a piece of 16 gauge steel through it, the frame of the roller was twisting a little while rolling the 16, but it did it, just as advertised. I ran some beads on a sheet of 20 gauge steel, and tried a few diffrent die combinations, it worked great! For the money, you cannot beat this bead roller, works just fine for the home metal enthusiast. I plan on welding some supports and mounting to this roller and I'm sure it will handle the 16 gauge just fine after the modifications. The set up is not friendly and timely, but for the price verses the high end rollers out there, I have the time. Also, it really helps to have a second person to help crank the roller, its almost impossible to do this alone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use right out of the box I set it up in a large vise. I then ignored the material listed there. After I re-red the instuctions I was able to achieve good results. With the heavier materials I found it needed some extra plates to be welded to the top arm to keep it from wondering in a few instances with 18 G sheet metal, and perhaps i was doing some thing wrong too. All in all a great tool for any one needing to do a little beading project for you and a few friends. If it were stiffer on the top or cheaper this is a great deal and tool collection starter for metal fabrications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use.easy to work with. How did I live without it. This is one of the most versatile tools in my kit as it does what it says ,as you can combine the dies and proce more comles panels.I just finished putting a 1/2 inch rolled edge on a part circlular piece of metal and then I was able to put an edge on the bottomcurving outward and upwards against the flow. Awesome if you dont understand Australian.

Hi Eastwood. I have your economy bead roller and have made some great door skin panels from stainless steel. After rolling beads the panel is left with some warping/oil canning. Is there a way to relieve this stress buildup so the panel will flatten out?

Asked by: Bigwavedave
Hello, There area a couple of things that can be done to release the stress area. The first would be to quench the metal, you will want to mark the worst areas of oil caning you will want to heat the metal from the center of the oil can area out to were it stops caning in that area. Place a rag of cold water on the area to make the metal shrink. The other option would be to cut a stress relief point in the metal to get rid of the oil caning.
