Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eliminates polishing billet I was looking for a way to keep from polishing my Zoop's billet brackets without the extra cost of chrome plating. I hate polishing billet aluminum. I bought this as an experiment. I cleaned the billet with prep solvent and sprayed on two light coats. I was amazed, the stuff dries super fast. You can't tell that there is even a clear coat on the billet. All my friends think that I had the brackets chrome plated. Absolutely amazing. I purchased all the other Eastwood clears. Great products!!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's OK Prepped polished part as per instructions. Disappointed in finish after spraying. Was a satin finish. Disappointed because not able to protect a polished surface the way I wanted. I was using the spray on aluminum valve covers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for bare aluminum bike covers Tried to use on Suzuki GT550 engine covers after polishing. Parts cleaned as per instructions. Coating went on with a satin finish, not high gloss. After drying for more than a day, the fiinish flaked off, which worked out not too badly, since removal wasn't too difficult. Solution has been to re-polish and just use some good wax. Product was very disappointing. I use duplicolor laquers all the time, so am not new to rattle can paints. Very disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not like an automotive clear coat. I bought 2 cans for clear coating my steel bicycle frame. When the can says clear coat, I assumed it would be like an automotive clear coat, but acryllic instead (it was actually just a film). I bought even though it was just a bike for and frame, I used up both cans were supposed to cover at least 6'^2. I just kept on spraying looking for any wetness but couldn't find any. Time will tell if two spray cans at 1 foot distance coud distribute the coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great! I repair and polish automotive trim, stainless and aluminum. I use the Diamond Clear Gloss on the aluminum trim, I've done several pieces and have been very pleased with the results. I strip the anodizing, repair and polish the trim, clean with wax and grease remover, tack and spray following the directions, when dry it looks close to the original anodized finish.Very pleased with the product..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product this stuff is great, I purchased a new gas tank for my 68 RS/SS Camaro and wanted to keep the nature zink finish but didn`t want to paint it a color. This product was exactly what I was looking for, left me a great finish and protection without losing the natural finish of my gas tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well This clearcoat finish is much more effective than any over-the-counter products that I have tried. It dries very hard, and is excellent at resisting yellowing and staining. More expensive but worth it if you want the finish to last.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dissappointed Not a good product for polished aluminum. Was wanting a glossy finish, but turned to more of a satin finish. The spray can could be of better quality. It spit and sputtered. Not a good finish.

I keep hearing that there is no way to clear coat polished steel and keep it from rusting is that true.

Asked by: mcdab
We have a product called Exo Armour which is a true clear for bare metal and will not cause any sort of corrosion underneath

does diamond clear have uv block? if not which product do you recommend for protecting bare, unpainted car body(bare metal, no rust). Thanks

Asked by: mrLee
For clean bare metal overall i would use the 2K aero clear over the diamond clear. The diamond clear is UV resistant though

I bought two can of this, but before I apply it I know the surface needs to be free completely clean. The metal I want o uset it for is a non stainless steel bike frame, do is diamond clear a rust sealent? Or do I need an applicatble rust preventor?
