These products air cure. Heat curing can occur after allowing coating to air dry overnight to whenever convenient without adversely affecting durability.
Curing in the oven is not recommended because unpleasant fumes are given off and it may cause the manifold to warp. If you must cure the manifolds in the oven, bolt the flanges to something solid or to each other and place in a well ventilated oven for 20-30 minutes.
Work in a well ventilated area when mixing, applying or curing this coating. Wear a respirator like our Professional Respirator (34229) with fresh cartridges if spray applying these products.

Make sure surface to be coated is free of any coating or rust. Abrasive blast or wire brush to remove all rust and other coatings and to rough up the the surface. Liberally spray derusted manifold with PRE Painting Prep (10041Z) or Xylene and allow to dry. Apply two medium coats (dabbing a foam brush works well to minimize brush marks), allow coating to dry overnight and reinstall part on car. Coating does not need to be heat cured however it will cure on start-up in 20-30 minutes. Paint is thin enough to spray right from the can. Clean up with lacquer thinner.
