- Patch Panel Kit 20 ga Aluminized Steel
Maybe a dumb question, but how/why do you use the backing strips? I have seen copper used, but am thinking that these will end up welded to the patch. Thanks, Russ
Does the coating on this mean that I don't need to seal the back of the repair? Also, can this be adhered with panel bonder instead of MIG welder?
How does aluminized steel differ from regular steel? Is it a special alloy? Laminate? Coating?
Is aluminized steel weldable with regular unshielded flux core wire? Thanks

About Patch Panel Kit 20 ga Aluminized Steel
Our 20-gauge aluminized steel panels are hot-dipped and coated with an aluminum-silicon alloy for superior corrosion protection. The sheet metal is easily formed with your hand tools, cuts very clean and sharp, and has excellent welding properties without removing the coating, assuring a corrosion-free joint. The 1" x 24" backing strips assure accurate alignment, sturdiness, and a clean weld bead. Made in the USA.
7 Sheets of 20-gauge Aluminized Sheet Metal (one 12" x 24", two 12" x 12", and four 1" x 24")
Always wear gloves, safety glasses and bodily protection when working with sheet metal as it may have sharp edges.
