ATK HP36C Chevy 383 Stroker Complete Engine, or Stage 3 Engine, is designed for those that are wanting to drop the engine into their project and fire it up. We try to outfit the engine as completely as possible to save you time and headaches. A GM Complete Dress engine typically consists of the Stage 2 build out plus the following: Carburetion, Spark Plug Wires, & Spark Plugs.

Will this motor fit a 1978 Monty Carlo and will there be any modifications for fitment.
YES. The ATK HP36C Chevy 383 Stroker Complete Engine (31972) will fit in the engine bay of the 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Although there may be some basic modifications need to complete this engine swap they should be minimal. due to the power output of this engine 435 HP it would be necessary to insure that the drive train is in good condition and rated for the new power increase. Should the transmission or suspension components need upgrading the Eastwood Company has you covered with a complete line of these products ready for you to purchase.

What would be involved to install this in a marine application? Would marine exhaust, t-stat housing, fuel pumps/fuel water separators, power steering pumps, starting motor fit? Would replacing automotive parts with marine approved parts be an option?
Unfortunately none of these ATK engine we resell are designed for Marine use/applications.

What name brand camshafts is in this engine, does it has a good lope?
It is a ATK Custom Grind Camshaft. It has a noticable Idle but has enough vacuum for power brakes.

This engine will fit in a 1975 corvette stingray but hood clearance will also be dependent also on the air cleaner you choose to run.

It will not work with your stock EFI and modifications would need to be made for fitment. It is not designed to be installed in pollution controlled vehicles.
