Description

The ultimate filler adhesive. Apply right over rust or bare metal.

Fix that seam or channel with POR-15 Patch. For years our customers have asked us for a thicker version of our world famous POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating, to use for filling seams or holes. Here it is! POR-15 Patch is quite literally POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating in a tube, and it dries as hard as a rock, remains flexible, and once dry is totally impervious to fuels and solvents. It’s so tough it may actually add strength to weakened metal, and it won’t absorb moisture and swell like conventional body fillers. Try it yourself, it’s incredible! Patches holes or cracks in steel, wood, and some plastics.

Questions & Answers

Should this be applied before or after using Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Aerosol or does it matter? Seems like the encapsulator would be applied first?

Technically this can be done before to after but for Encapsulator to do what it is designed to do- it needs to directly contact any present rust so it should be applied first in scenarios where rust is present.

What is the working time with this product?

This Dries to touch in 4-6 hours but full cure can take up to 96 hours (based on thickness applied and environment applied in).

Can this be applied over rust converter?

You will want to clean the area with acetone or PRE first to remove any leftover converter.

POR 15 states "POR-15® Patch dries to a rock-hard finish and sanding is very difficult, so we don’t recommend use on car exterior parts if a cosmetic finish is desired."

What is the temperature rating of this seam sealer? I a m powder coating a few of my trucks body panels and I am finding that the Factory seam sealer that is on my truck does not like the 400ish degrees that the powder coat needs to cure.

This seam sealer is not designed to be used in powder coating applications.
