Upgrade for shop compressorHave not used this yet, bought it for my spray paint gun. Hung it on the wall behind my compressor and plumbed it in with 1/2 hose and quick connects to keep it isolated when I don’t need dry air. Looks good and should work great!
How often does the Desiccant have to be replaced? Is the Desiccant you sell in the quarts and gallons what is needed to replace the Desiccant in the
Rockwood 1/2” NPT 2 Stage Air Filter Dryer System
Item #31727 that you sell?
Asked by: flyboydale54
The dessicant doesn't need to be replaced although you may want to buy extra. When it is saturated with water it turns pink. You can spread it on a baking sheet and bake at 225° for about 40 minutes or until the beads are blue again. I have about two quarts on hand sealed in Rubbermaid food containers so I can swap the beads a few times before needing to refresh them again.
If I'm just using air tools like sanders and impact wrenches, I use the dryer empty, without the dessicant beads.

I plan to use 1/2 npt piping for my air compressor lines in my home shop. do I need to use the 1/2 in. npt filter drier assembly or could I get by with the 3/8 in. set up
Asked by: z28station
3/8 would be sufficient enough to use the air dryer in, you will not want to go with anything lower than that.

If we only use one bag of desiccant, I cannot see it through sight glass. So I put two in it. Will that cause a problem?
Asked by: Scott
The addition bag of desiccant will not cause any issues.

How much of the desiccant do you put in the Rockwood 1/2" NPT 2 stage filter dryer system. It doesn't really say.
Asked by: Scott
i bag of desiccant fits in this filter at a time.

Would this unit be suited to keep the air dry for a Central Pneumatic 110 lbs. Pressurized Abrasive Blaster so the sand will not get moisture in it and clog up?
Asked by: flyboydale54
This would work perfect to hook up before going into an abrasive blaster.

Hi,I want to paint my car probably the only car i will paint what would be a good set up i have a 60 gallon 155psi max compressor and will install filter/dryer etc. about 75' from compressor. Thanks
Asked by: Pete
The shorter the air hose the better you'll be, unless you have a compressor which has a pretty high CFM output. Say your paint gun requires 6 CFM and you have 75 feet of hose. This would mean you would probably want approximately 12+ capable CFM output compressor to make sure you can account for loss in the long air hose.

Is the 1/2" mounting bracket between the bowls that connect them together available for purchase seperatelt to work with the 1/2" rockwood pressure regulator. I see the 3/8" version but not one for 1/2"
Asked by: Jake34
Unfortunately we do not have the connecting block for the 1/2 filter at this time.
