Questions & Answers

Are the Yost vises manufactured in the USA?

Asked by: MAGA2024
Yost vises have not been made in the USA for over a decade. This particular vise is made in China by a reputable supplier that Yost has been partnered with for many years now.

Your ad says "Yost Vises has been producing high-quality vises and vise accessories since 1908." Where were they manufactured in 1908 or 1960? Where are they manufactured now?

Asked by: railgunner16
Yost is a historic brand that has manufactured in numerous places since its founding. Antique Yost vises from founding were cast in Meadville, PA. Yost was bought by a family somewhere in the last quarter of the 1900s and casting was transitioned to Holland, MI. During the 1990s manufacturing of some vises was being transitioned to China and Taiwan. The final Holland, MI, made in USA vises were sold somewhere in the early to mid 2010s. When Eastwood purchased Yost from that family in 2021, all manufacturing was already in China and Taiwan. The Holland, MI headquarters was also cleared out and closed. The most interesting thing is that some of the vise patterns have remained virtually unchanged since the early days of Yost. The high-end vises like the 20x series and 3xC series have been made in the same fashion from PA, to MI and now in Taiwan.
