Rated 2 out of 5 by from very disappointed with this product i had much higher expectations of this product the arbor for one is made of very cheap metal therefore when you put any kind of pressure on the brush the drill chuck just can't grab the arbor because the metal is way to soft, also you can't bend these brushes at all to get them in tight places i went through three of them in no time and just stopped using them as i felt they are a waste of money maybe i'll find something a little easier to use the remaining two brushes on,they are just not intented for tight spots at all i'm sure eastwood can come up with a better product then this .....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but wears down quickly I bought this set of brushes to clean inside the rear frame rails of my '65 Mustang. 40 years of gunk and rust were whisked away quickly and easily. The brushes worked great BUT once they conform to a small space (slightly smaller diameter than a brush) , they stay at the smaller diameter. They do not spring back. Once they loose the original diameter you will need to move on to a new brush if brush size is important for your project. It would be nice if they were made out of a springier material. I would buy these again as they do work great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed with this product The wires on the brush quickly spun off leaving strands all over the place. The core bent easily and created a hazard. Overall, other tools such as wire wheels and sanding discs are better. The concept is great as the length and size will get to areas no other tool can reach.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fair Product- could be better Bought these to help strip down a rear axle beam. On a flat surface these worked well, but trying to fit into a tight spot proved to be a challenge. The brushes came loose in the drill and fell out. Because of the twist in the wire would only work in one direction or the wires could come loose. Would recommend the set include different sizes to work in smaller spaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was not expecting much But when they arrived, the first thing I noticed is just how BEEFY these are. I am working on the under carriage of a 2004 Avalanche, and I am having no problems at all with these. I did make the mistake of letting some plastic get close while in motion, but that's on me. The brush just grabbed it, wrapped up in it and it took a few to clean it out. I am not sure what others are using theirs for, but so far, I am still on my first one out of the package, and after several hours its going strong!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could be better......... VERY, Short life, bristles bend and deform quickly. Shaft is soft steel so it bends easily and stays bent. Shaft should be spring steel. Can not recommend and would not buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with the product I am restoring a 64 Corvair and needless to say it is rusty. I have used the wire brushes on the suspension and on the floor pans of the car. The brushes work better than expected. The end even can become cone shaped to reach into corners. The only darw back keeping it from 5 stars is the shaft. It is twisted wire and does not hold tight in the drill. You have to keep tightening the chuck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes removing old paint and rust Simple! After watching the Video on this product from Eastwood I knew I had to give them a try. Once I started to use the brush I was extremely impressed with what it could do. I am restoring my 1969 Mustang and completely stripped the front chasis and engine compartment with little effort. I used Chasis Kleen to help prep for Rust Encapsulator and so far I couldn't be happier.

Will a 1/4" drill chuck work? I.E. what is the diameter of the shaft?

Asked by: flanch
Once I submitted this question I was given the opportunity to go on-line and answer my own question. This seems somewhat ironic as I was the one with the question in the first place. Oh-well, I called Eastwood at customer service was kind enough to answer the question. The answer is 5/16"

Would the wires in these be considered "course" (.015" diameter) or "fine" (.01" diameter)?

Asked by: brett45209
Hello, The wires on the cylinder brushes would be considered course.
