Eastwood High Temp CoatingProduct was easy to apply. Great look when finished for my 1973 Dodge Dart Sport 340 exhaust manifolds. Still have to cure the paint with heat when installed on the car.

Stir often when applyingGoes on nicely but constant stirring is recommended in order to obtain even coating. Have not done final cure yet but so far, it's a great paint.

Mixed resultsColor is great but I couldn’t get the paint to lay down even though I put it on very thin with a brush. I’d highly recommend spraying it if you are able to.

Disappointed in factory Gray paintThe exhaust manifolds were lightly sanded and pre was used to wipe them down. This was done with the headers on the car.The factory Gray paint covered well with 2 light coated. I allowed them to dry 24 hr and started my car. All seemed well untill the next day when I noticed the paint had flaked off on 60 percent of the headers. I was quite disappointed

JunkUsed this on 2 sets of manifolds (one set new, another sandblasted) and a turbo turbine housing. Everything is showing large rust spots after 6 months and 2 years later almost half the paint is gone.
I'll be using this to paint aluminized-steel heat shield tins from my engine compartment. I understand it needs to be clean, free of rust, grease, etc. What specific products from the Eastwood store can you recommend prior to this (prep, primer, etc.)?

I painted a set of cast iron manifolds with this paint over 10 years ago and they need touch up. Is it as simple as brushing over the old paint or do I need to remove the old paint? It isn't peeling but some rust specs are showing.
Asked by: Will
you will have to clean them as best as possible. Pre-Paint Prep.
I use Item#10396
Used by a huge Racing/NASCAR team.

If it starts to thicken in the can what can you use to thin it
Asked by: Big Don
Laquer thinner works perfectly. I have a 15 year old can that I still use that works great. Unless they changed the formula it should be fine. The normal shelf life on this stuff is very short. It turns to paste in 6 months. They will probably edit or delete my answer because they will sell less product.

I am reinforcing some steel C-channel with steel L-bracket stock. I’ll weld these together but want the flat surfaces that face each other to resist rust. Will this paint hold up to welding temps? Is there a better paint/coating for pre-welding?
Asked by: John
This paint should not be welded over. If you need to apply a coating before welding the only option we have would be our Self Etch weld through primer found here: https://www.eastwood.com/ew-self-etching-weld-thru-primer-16-1-oz-aero.html
