Have these been recalled like the ones from several other vendors? I know that the ones from Harbor Freight have been. Is there a life expectancy for these. I purchased mine 2 years ago.

These have not been recalled. Our Jack Stands have been tested to ASME PASE 2014 standards. They exceeded the 150% load test and tested to 200% load. These are quality well made Jack Stands and will last for many years under normal use.

With regard to jack stands Is the ratchet-cradle piece cast or forged? Cast is more brittle then forged, so forged is best for safety reasons making this a critical specification but I don't see it in the write-up.
