Description
Eastwood's Candeez combines brilliant candy colors with advanced high-solids urethane 2k technology. This system is completely interchangeable and gives you full control to customize and create unique artwork. The Candeez can be applied over any of the Eastwood Urethane finishes, but for the most dramatic finishes, apply over Eastwood's Silver-Metallic bases (51549ZP & 51678ZP). To ensure maximum intercoat adhesion use Candeez in conjunction with Eastwood's 2K Urethane Primer, Paints and European Clear Coats. Candeez quarts mix 4:1 and must be activated with 21854Z 4:1 activator.

Pot life 2 hours at 70°F Gun Tip size HVLP: 1.2mm - 1.4mm, Conventional 1.4mm - 1.6mm Mix 4:1 by volume. No reduction necessary, but reduction with Eastwood's zero VOC reducer 50104ZP may improve leveling and flow. let Candeez flash dry 15-20 between coats. By adjusting the number of coats it is possible to achieve different and darker shades. Candeez may be clear coated after final coat has flased 15-20 minutes and before 18 hrs have passed. after 18 hrs, abrade with 800 grit to promote adhesion.

I'm a little bit confused is this a translucent candy like other types of candy or is it simply a candy colored base coat.

Could extra metallic flake be added to the silver basecoat under the Vino Rojo?

How does this hold up to sunlight? Which is the best clear to spray over this to protect from UV?
This needs to be clear coated for UV protection. The best product would be our Premium Show Clear

What's the best way to get a darker candy that sparkles. I was thinking of using this base coat Carbon Metallic but not sure if it would best to spray Roadster Black Cherry in an intercoat than cover in Candeez Vino Rojo or mix the flake with the candy.
The easiest way to do this would be to use a darker base exactly like the Carbon Metallic then apply several coats of this over and lastly a clear.

Can this be used over 3.1 Carbon Metallic single stage?
Yes, this can be used over any of our 3:1 SSU paints.

Hello , I have my base coat dried and it has lots of orange peel. I was planning to color sand and buff , can I spray candy after buffing or do I need to sand with 800 , also would 1200 work instead of 800?
You will need to abrade the surface with 600/800 grit prior to applying more paint over to ensure a good mechanical bond.
