Description
Eastwood Carbon Metallic - This medium metallic gray features huge particles that glitter and dance to life when exposed to direct light. A cold and crisp shade of gray metallic.
Eastwood's Carbon Metallic Charcoal single stage paint is a premium acrylic urethane topcoat for exceptional long-lasting beauty. The charcoal metallic can also be used under other brands of candies. The metallic flakes are very coarse to really bring out the topcoat. Because of the course metallic flakes it is recommend to use a clear. Mix 3:1 with 32oz activator. Compatible with all Eastwood primers and clears.
- Approximate coverage: 125 SQFT
- Flake/Pearl Particle size: 50-65 microns
- Max Temperature: Paint will handle up to 300 degrees without delamination, but color shift may occur, so it should not be used in a high heat setting

Application Tips
Clean surface to be painted with Eastwood PRE, painting prep. Abrade substrate with 600 to 800 grit sandpaper. Mix 3:1 with activator. Apply 2 to 3coats, or until desired thickness is achieved. Metallics may take additional coats to achieve full coverage. Tack free in 1 hour, Tape dry in 8 hours, full cure in 18 to 24 hours. Temperature will affect dry times. Recoat window is 18 hours. Spray with a 1.5mm to 1.8mm tip size in either HVLP or conventional gun.

What size tip is recommended and can this be a base and just cleared over? Do you have sample chops of this color available?
This paint would be best if sprayed with a 1.4 or 1.5mm nozzle set. This paint can be cleared over. We do not offer samples of our paints but this color can be found by purchasing our chip chart here: https://www.eastwood.com/ew-branded-color-paint-chart.html

I can use this as a base for the eastwood candeez? Would i leave out the clear and just shoot as a basecoat?
This can absolutely be used as a base for our Candeez paints. A clear coat would still need to be applied over the Candeez paint after applying it.
