Great product
I purchased this kit because the acid and zinc bar were worn out from years of use. This new kit works much better than my original kit. It plates nuts in about 30 seconds and bolts in a minute. It is a great value for money.

Questions & Answers
I have one of your zink plating kits that I have been using for several years to plate hardware for motorcycle restorations. I really would like to stop buying batteries. Can I use a 3 - 5 volt, 1 amp power supply?
Another user said he used an AC to DC power supply on 3 V at 2 AMPS … I came here to find out the same thing

I want to plate nuts, bolts and other auto hardware. I degrease the hardware and derust it in a bath of diluted phosporic acid and throughly rinse. ?'s - 1. Will phosphoric acid comprmise the process? 2. Can I susbstiture nickel with the process?

99.95% Tin anode
Electroplating is easier than you think when you use the Eastwood Tin-Zinc Electroplating System. It brings back the original brilliant luster to properly prepared metal parts.
I have no experience replacing nickel.
not sure about the Phosphoric acid interrupting the process.
This kit solves problems of sending parts out to expensive plating shops, or storing dangerous chemicals by allowing you to conveniently plate almost any metal part at home. This system brings a brilliant luster to properly prepared metal parts with a corrosion-resistant, protective plating resembling chrome but without the expense, hassles or hazards. Electroplating uses electric current to pull small amounts of metal from the positively charged tin-zinc anode bar through electrolyte solution and onto the negatively charged piece to be plated. The anode bar will last through dozens of parts.

Could be you switch out the zinc tin anode for just a regular zinc anode?
The kits are complete and we cannot brake them up or make changes

Will this plate a bumper
It will, plate any metal although you'll need a large trough to dip the entire bumper in. The amount liquid to cover the entire part, will be required.
This will not give the appearance of a Chrome bumper.

I noticed some rust inside the fuel filler and vent tube on my 1986 GMC C1500. After removing the rust, will the Tin-Zinc Electroplating System keep the rust from coming back? And how well will the plating stand up to continuous contact with fuel?
We do not recommend this product for an application that will be exposed to constant submersion to fuel.

Is this kid good for chrome plating control arms/trailing arms/valve covers/ coil springs??
Yes, this will work but additional solution and a stronger battery would be needed for components of this magnitude.

Could you take out the tin annode and replace with nickels to nickel plate a part? I have some potentiometer tuners I want to satin nickel plate.
I do. I use an Ac to DC converter for my power source and do around 3 volts and 2 amps. I dip until the gummy slag builds, rinse clean with brass brush and dip again until a bright shine. Then polish. Nickel is harder brighter and has less friction thanks zinc. It is less flexible though.
