The Eastwood Metal Cutting Jig Saw was designed with a powerful 6.5-amp motor and precision cut gearing for maximum cutting torque when needed. It features a quick-release blade changing feature, a 4-position orbital blade motion control, chip dispersal blower for maximum view of cut and an integral LED light.
Cut through steels and aluminum in the most intricate shapes you can imagine with an Eastwood metal jig saw. This tool is designed for incredible torque that won’t shy away from a tough task. It has a 6.5-amp motor, variable speed control and four-position orbital blade control to make precision cuts. The 45-degree adjustable tilt allows for work on angled or uneven sheets (use the hex key for adjustments). Nice saw, great price/value.I've been looking for a good jig saw for years. Been using a cheapie for too long. So this is a really nice saw which I got for a good price. Powerful motor, variable speeds via a dial and not just by trying tp hold the trigger steady, lighted blade area, and a blower to clear the chips away.

Great too for cutting 18 gaugeI could tell by the weight this was a heavy-duty tool. I was using my Bosch jig saw to cut 18-gauge steel. Using this new saw proved to be just the tool. It runs vibration free just like the Bosch.

Peerless value and performanceAfter checking out Milwaukee, Makita and Delta jig saws costing over three times as much, I didn't find the high quality needed for my project. I came back to Eastwood because of earlier success with metal working products and their jig saw seemed of higher quality. Upon receiving the product the superior quality was confirmed, and completing a bunch of difficult curve and straight cuts successfully I find this to be the best (corded) product on the market--for one third the cost of competitors. Perhaps noteworthy, this is the only positive review I have ever posted.

Eastwood has such great products.It works great. Been using it on mild 1/8” thick steel. It eats through like butter. I honestly don’t have any corded tools except this one. I do wish it had a clip at end of power cord so when you roll it up it holds to itself.

Incredible jigsaw at an incredible price!!!This is an absolutely amazing Jigsaw.......it's designed for cutting metal and is very well built. I love the weight of this jigsaw.....it's nice and heavy which makes cutting much easier because of less vibrations. It cuts metal so well that I also use it for cutting wood and it's just butter smooth. I highly recommend this saw to anyone.
The tool will have no issue. Recommend purchasing specific blades for your specific material.

Does this saw have a variable speed trigger switch?

One reviewer mentioned that his unit lacked the metric button head cap screws for mounting the guide to the saw. Are these supposed to be included or something I'm expected to get myself??

How do I remove the plastic dust piece? It snapped into place nicely but can’t figure out how to remove it. I’m pushing on the plastic tab but not working.

Hi , if you are referring to the dust collector attachment they do lock in nice and firm you just need to wiggle it left to right while pulling and it will come off easily.

What’s the difference between this and, say, a normal jigsaw with metal blades?

Our unit features all metal internals for longevity and durability. A "normal" jigsaw off the shelf at your local box store is going to be built with a lot of plastic internals and tear itself apart when cutting metal.
