Does it control the amperage for the tig

If not using a foot pedal, the amperage is set using the Output Amperage Knob located on the front panel of the welder. This knob adjusts the amperage based on the thickness and type of metal being welded. Hope this helps, Thanks

I know this will not work as a high frequency start on the MP200i, but would it work as a shut off so you can kill the arc and continue shielding? That is the biggest thing missing on the MP200i.

Does eastwood make a tig finger switch for the elite 200i 5 pin

Unfortunately the Eastwood Elite MP200i(20569) is not a high Frequency start machine so it can not use a finger trigger. It is a Scratch/Drag start machine in the TIG Welding mode.
