Description

The Multitool Grinders 2x36 attachment is our most popular model, and the #1 selling product in the grinder attachment market.     Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great versatile tool. I started using the Multitool in the 80's while in Australia. I used it for Locksmithing, Blacksmithing, Safe work, Knife making and repair and general manufacturing small prototype parts. It is very easy to keep the belt on "track" and easy to replace belts. The tool if very robust and well made. You can use numerous types of belts from abrasive 30 to 120 grit to polishing. This tool is a true asset to my shop.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very capable addition to my workshop. I purchased this attachment for my mostly unused 6" bench grinder. After receiving an inspecting , I decided to install it on my 3/4 hp, 8" buffer. I had to bore the pulley center hole to 3/4" and modify the buffer's shaft. But, the extra power and RPMs were worth the effort. It won't replace my 2x72" grinder, but I'll use it on the other side of my garage.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love The Multitool Had a slight tracking issue, however, after reviewing a You Tube video for tuning the Multitool and resetting it it worked fine. Only problem I had was the polishing belt would not turn on my 6 inch Craftsman grinder. Great customer service though - I got to talk to Greg at the company that manufactures the Multitool and he sent me another belt but it still did not work. Guess it may require a 1 Hp motor mine is only 1/2 hp.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great idea. Not sure about the execution. I mounted this to my Delta grinder. All of the hardware was there and it fit with no problems. I had to use the 1/2' bushing to mount the drive pulley. Upon spinning up, I have a slight wobble in the pulley. I tried to reset and tighten with the same problem. It could be the grinder, so I'm not casting blame. However, when I push down on the platen, the grinder wants to tip forward due to the weight out front. I'll have to be careful when sanding or buffing or bolt a wider base on the grinder

    The 20672 Multitool 2" X 36" belt grinder is an attachment you mount on your grinder motor. go to www.eastwood.com and type in #21534 to see the Multitool 2" x 36" belt grinder attachment with motor. it is a 120volt unit only

    Will it fit on a  Ryobi bench grinder. It is a 8”

    Unfortunately we have not tested on other brand units. However, this will easily fit to most 6" and 8" bench grinders, shaft size of 1/2” and 5/8”

    do you sell belts for these? Also do you have the speck for the motor type shaft etc to be used?

    Right now we sell the belts in a kit which can be found here: https://www.eastwood.com/multitool-metal-working-belt-and-disk-starter-kit.html The specification for which motors this fits will be those grinders with 1/2"-5/8" shafts.

    How many inches of travel does the auto tensioner have? Diameter of contact wheel mounting hole? Width of contact wheel? Plans for different size contact wheels?

    Auto tensioner has approximately 1/2"of travel on either side of the center where it rides with a belt installed. . The width of the contact will is 2 inches. For the other two questions since this is an item which ships directly from and is made by Multitool we will not have such detailed specifications or information on what design changes they are working on.
