Rated 1 out of 5 by from POR15 engine paint -DON'T use it. Probably the worst paint I have ever used. I've been restoring classics for decades and was totally disappointed with this product. Every other POR15 product has been good, not so with this one. Thicker than pudding and even when thinned it was terrible. It separated, didn't flow well and bled through after three coats. Engine was fresh, rebuilt and properly cleaned. Now I have to strip it down and use a different product.

How would this finish on an aluminum intake manifold? Would it smooth out or look streaky when brushed on?

Do I need to use a primer before using this paint?

This is designed to be used on bare metal applications. Bare Steel: Remove grease, oil, and other foreign substances with the water-based POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser then rinse with water. If the surface was previously painted, sand with 320 grit sandpaper and then apply POR-15 Engine Enamel.

This can be sprayed once reduced by 10% with the por 15 solvent using a 1.4 tip.
