Description
Use our Soft Edge Foam Masking Tape around door jambs, hoods and trunk lids to prevent overspray from entering those areas. The shape of this soft edge tape allows the paint to transition gradually into the foam to avoid hard paint edges. The high performance adhesive leaves no residue and is easily removed. The tape is low bake safe and comes in 3/4" x 131' boxed rolls. (17mm x 50M)

Application Tips
Clean areas to be masked off, use PRE Painting prep to remove grease, oils and contaminants. Open door, trunk or hood and affix soft edge tape to jamb.Test fit occasionally to ensure the foam fills the gap between the jamb and door, trunk or hood. When door is closed it may be necessary to push in the tape using a plastic or wooden stick. After paint has cured, simply pull up tape and discard.

Much better than regular tape!
Used this while painting a 70 Corvette convertible. Used it in door gaps to keep overspray out of the previously painted door jams. Easier to get into the position I wanted than regular tape. Also used in the drain channel for the deck lid. Placed it around the channel and shut the deck lid. Did not leave the sharp paint line regular tape does. Much easier to clean up and blend in afterward.

This stuff is pretty neat
I used this in the door jambs and under the trunk lid on a car to keep out 2k surfacer over spray. It was the first time using it and it worked pretty good. Typically, the cars I paint are mostly disassembled so this isn't needed. I did try this on a complete car I was painting to help avoid spending time masking and it worked good. If you are doing a restoration and have a body you are painting I wouldn't buy this. If you are just painting the exterior of the car and want to save some time masking it is likely worth the 40 dollars. For reference, I used up two full strips of the foam doing the trunk lid, and all 4 doors of a 94 Chevy Caprice.

Good
Used once to avoid sharp paint edge when painting. It worked good for that application. Need to be very careful when placing the tape to get it straight.

Time saver!
This product is amazing! This was the first time I have used this product, I'm hooked, it saves clean up time. I used it to mask off the door jams, hood and trunk seams. No more cleaning of door jams! A must for any painter. Just wish it was a little cheaper.
