Eastwood Dead Rat Flat Black - As the name implies, this black has no gloss. The dead flat look is perfect for the meanest looking rat rods and gassers.
How low can you go? Eastwood's new "Dead Rat" Flat Black has a NEAR-ZERO gloss level! Maybe you think our Rat Rod Satin Black is too glossy for your rod, so we went to an extreme, creating the only single-stage acrylic urethane paint with a near-zero gloss level.
Catalyzed urethane for unsurpassed durability
Highly resistant to UV rays, chemicals, chips
Makes 1 sprayable gallon when mixed 3:1 with a required activator
Approximate coverage: 125 SQ FT
Max Temperature: Paint will handle up to 300 degrees without delamination, but color shift may occur, so it should not be used in a high heat setting

Single Stage FlatNice product, it reminds me of the old days of the mid 1970's shooting an acrylic enamel... simple single stage out of the can mix in some reducer, strain it, and spray. Covers and lays down well... time will be the ultimate test for the duration of this style of paint.

Love this flat black!Bought this paint for my interior top coat. Sprays beautifully and dries evenly. A very forgiving paint. Looks fantastic. Like the description says, zero gloss.

Flat BlackIt is very flat. Covers well but rough surface looks like primer but not chalky like primer. The rough surface may have been my error.

What is paint gun pressure for spraying dead rat black paint?
Asked by: Bob85
What is the best air pressure for spray painting? Again, it's essential you check your specific model's recommendations, but your HVLP spray gun PSI will likely sit between 25-30 PSI for something like using an air compressor for spraying cars, rising to 40 PSI in some cases where higher atomization is needed.

For the dead rat flat black do I get the activator and the reducer or activator only?
Asked by: Cjg51
Technically only the paint and activator are required; they get mixed 3:1. Reducer is not required but strongly recommended for best results. This paint can be reduced up to 20%
