Description

Get steel, stainless steel or sheet metal ready for the next step with the right stripping drum for our surface conditioner tool. The Eastwood CONTOUR SCT® Interleaf Stripping Drum is designed for paint or rust removal applications. At the same time, it conditions metal so the surface is ready for painting, welding and finishing. You can also use an interleaf surface conditioning drum to remove old body filler or smooth out a recently patched panel.

This 120-grit drum is an effective solution for light rust and one or two layers of old paint. It’s made of the same material as our finishing drums, but has sandpaper layered in to remove the top surface without taking too much metal with it. Each drum is four inches wide and four inches in diameter to help you work on flat metal, curves or tubing. Use it with our CONTOUR SCT conditioning tool to do better surface preparation in your garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and Strips great I bought this sanding drum and SCT for prepping decks after power washing. Works great! Adapts to warped boards whereas a belt sander would not. Ran SCT motor on 3, and used 2 sanding drums to remove loose paint on 650sq ft of decking.

I've got a couple of old tonka toy tractors that need the paint and rust removed and a few metal chicken lawn decors, what would you recommend,glass blasting or water blaster or these round sanders?

Due to the size and the size of these drums, your best bet would not be this SCT tool. Soda or abrasive blasting would be better suited.

I have a 19 foot Deep V aluminum fishing boat would this be a good tool to strip off paint and decals to repaint , have a lot of rivets to go around what grit drums would you recommend

The best drum for striping paint is the 21970 Abrasive Drum. You can use the narrow wheels with the spacers to use around the rivets and tight areas. You can use this chart as a reference to what wheels to use. https://www.eastwood.com/images/pdf/Contour_SCT_Drum_Chart.pdf

Hi looking to strip some nasty sticky undercoat from a frame and underside of car its completely disassembled and turned up side angle grinder just smears it around only thing that's seems to remove it is heat and scraping would sct work for this

An SCT tool would generate heat as well. Best recommendation for your application would be to try to find a chemical stripper to help or the normal heat gun and metal scraper. We apologize for the confusion.

Can these be used to strip paint off of fiberglass and also possibly gelcoat
