Eastwood Contour SCT® - Surface Conditioning Tool is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beast This sander is a beast". Took my truck to bare metal in days compared to weeks with ra sander. Excellent tool for those who don't have access to air tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth the Money Bought the SCT as an early Christmas present to myself to strip my 70 torino. Wanted something to strip years of bondo and paint off without having to kick on the compressors and clean up the mess the blaster would make. Best buy I've made in awhile. It strips crazy well and leaves a brushed finish that makes you want to just leave it bare and not paint it. If you are on the fence about getting one, buy it, the only regret you will have is not getting one sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy To Use I bought the SCT for two purposes - to strip paint off my deck and mainly, to strip the paint off of my street rod project. I used the 80 grit wheels to strip the loose paint off my deck and it did a great job. Weight of the tool really does the work and the motor barely got a little warm. I also used the 80 grit on a section of my coupe's trunk lid and it easily stripped the paint and left a beautiful finish on the bare metal. With the rotation of the wheel inline with the tool, there is no torque and makes the tool easy to maneuver. I purchased a number of different wheels and found the 80 grit stripping drum did as good a job removing the old paint on my coupe as the contour abrasive drum. (A major cost savings since it is approximately a third of the price of the abrasive drum.

What wheel would be useful in grinding a weld flat, also for removing spatter? Typically we're using a 36 grit flapper wheel on an angle grinder, wondering if this would be a good alternative in some situations.

Our Black Abrasive drum would be the best option for this application:

I am looking to order the Contour SCT, but I am not sure on how many drums to order... Do they last awhile, or will I need more then one or two of the same drum for a whole car?

Asked by: atomadam
Depending on the vehicle generally 2 abrasive drums will strip a vehicle. The one thing to save the drums is to keep way from sharp edges.

Im repainting a BMW motorcycle with clear coat over decals and need to remove it all down to the ABS plastic panel. Is this tool too aggressive? If so what do you recommend?

Asked by: Johnny Rodder
Our SCT would be more than likely be too aggressive for plastic parts.

will this work for removing undercoating?

Asked by: fotogi
This does vary on the hardness of the undercoating but the best combination would be this tool with our scaling drum.

Can this be used to polish stainless steel from mill to mirror finish?

Asked by: Rich
While we have never tested buffing anything to a mirror finish with the current wheels we are always looking for new options to grow this great tool even further.

Looking at this in order to strip paint from a wood deck. Of course, later I will be using it on my scoot to clean it up! LOL! BUT what drum/abrasive setup would you recommend for this project?

Asked by: Lightning
When using on wood our Expander wheel with with drums of sand paper are the best option. This turns the unit into a drum sander to quickly remover paint and smooth the wood.

I have gone through about $40 worth of abrasive discs of all sort in the last hour, trying to remove hot rolled steel mill scale. I barely completed about 12 sq inches...Will this HONESTLY work (very well) on mill scale??

Asked by: Hr2burn
We have found our Black Abrasive drum to be very good at removing mill scale quickly. The next runner up is our 80 grit stripping drum.
